Den nasjonale cyber/informasjonssikkerhetskonferanse HackCon ble etablert i 2005 av nettverket. nettverket består av personer fra Norge som innehar høy sikkerhetskompetanse innen cyber/informasjonssikkerhet. Målet var å skape praktiske cyber/informasjonssikkerhetskurs og sikkerhetskonferanse, kombinert med en sosial møteplass for å møte fremtidens utfordringer innen cyber/informasjonssikkerhet. nettverket hadde gode relasjoner med KINS (Foreningen kommunal informasjonssikkerhet) og Honeynor, og sammen ble vi enige om å arrangere HackCon # 1 den 8. og 9. februar 2006.
