El Serafy Engineering was established in 1989 as an electrical contracting firm, and over the ensuing few years worked closely with many world-class electrical manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, and Schneider. Contracts undertaken included low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution systems, high-rise building busduct installations, CCTV, fire fighting, public address and other (light-current) systems. More recently the company has forged further partnerships with other world class manufactures and solution providers such as Piller, ABB, Delta Controls, Hub bell Lighting and Mac Lean Power Systems, as well as broadening its partnership with GE to cover power system engineering and Smart Grid solutions for the electric utility industry.
