In 1974, the Idaho Legislature created Idaho Correctional Industries (ICI) as a self-sustaining agency under the Idaho Board of Correction. Nearly 50 years later, ICI continues to thrive—providing critical workforce training while operating entirely without state General Fund dollars. Our mission is clear: to provide diversified technical training and pro-social life skills to resident trainees, enhancing their successful reentry and creating a safer Idaho. By equipping individuals with real-world job skills, we help reduce recidivism and redirect taxpayer resources to other vital community needs.
