GEORG WANKER Industrial Design (GWID) ist ein Industrial Design Büro in Graz. Georg Wanker, 1981 in Villach geboren, studierte bis 2004 Industrial Design an der Fh-Joanneum in Graz. Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss des Studiums gründete er mit zwei Partnern Roman Wratschko und Philipp Haselwander sein erstes Designbüro „Edelweiss Industrial Design“. Anfang 2012 befand er, dass es Zeit für eine Veränderung ist und eröffnete sein eigenes Designbüro und Arbeitet derzeit mit einem Mitarbeiter an Projekten für Vorwiegend Unternehmen in Österreich und den benachbarten Ländern. Seit 2008 ist er auch Dozent auf der Fh-Joanneum und der TU Graz. Georg Wanker hat in den letzten gut 15 Jahren eine große Anzahl unterschiedlichster Produkte in unterschiedlichen Genres auf ihrem Weg in die Serienfertigung begleitet. Der Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit liegt im Zielgruppenorientierten Industrial Design. Er versteht seine Arbeit als eine strategische Beratungsleistung - nicht als „künstlerischen Schöpfungsakt“. Er ist ein Querdenker und Improvisationstalent und er liebt es, festgetretene Wege zu verlassen um für seine Kunden nachhaltige, effiziente und erfolgreiche Lösungen zu finden. Neben anderen Auszeichnungen wurde seine Arbeit 2011 mit dem „red dot award“ für Produktdesign, dem „ispo-brandnew award“ 2013, sowie mit dem „Green Panther“ in Gold 2016 ausgezeichnet.
