ASDA Sustainable Development Association is a non-profit Egyptian Design Hub dedicated to developing sustainable projects and initiatives with a core design element that provide positive returns to youth, business and society. ASDA, derived from the word giving اسدى in Arabic, is a culmination of three self-propelled initiatives by the Egyptian architect and award-winning designer Dalia Sadany starting with the Future of Young Egyptians Initiative in 2013 followed by - Cairo Design Biennale and Face of Egypt Initiative in 2014. Dalia Sadany founded ASDA in 2015 as a platform to nurture and develop these initiatives as well as expand the scope to other areas to include empowering women; developing the crafts and creative industries; and promoting positive values. Our Initiatives Future of Young Egyptians Initiative is focused on skill-building and self development. It aims to enhance the employability prospects of Egyptian youth by partnering with value-added non-profit, governmental and private entities to provide courses, vocational training, workshops, educational events, internships, competitions, exhibitions, symposiums, etc. Cairo Design Biennale is Egypt's first biannual event created to recognize and celebrate Egypt's design visionaries and uncover its emerging talent. The first event was created in 2014 with the collaboration of the International Association of Designers (IAD) and under the auspices of the Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism.
