Social Identity Research

Social Identity Research gathers a group of social and humanistic scholars, researchers, and practitioners with a common interest in studying social identity. The goal of the organization is to provide a free venue for thinking, searching, networking, writing and publishing, and forming joint interdisciplinary research connections in order to improve the quality and scope of social identity studies. Coming from the academic, independent researchers, and NGO sector the members are able to approach social identity issues from the standpoints of their various disciplines and abilities, thus providing an interdisciplinary input to improve the analytical value of their studies. The Social Identity Research is a non-profit organization, directed at the applicable social, and cultural scientific studying of the influences of the various factors of the identity building, from which pedagogic, social work, politics could benefit from actionable results. For those purposes, we are placing the most significance on researching the cultural origins (including the scope of geographical and cultural origin, socio-cultural and socio-economic background, media usage, education, family, peer groups, migration history, etc.) and identity development. The goal of the organization is to prepare research projects that are scientific, actionable, and relevant for praxis, and funded through donations or funded research contracts.

Stipendiga

Founded in 2010 by Mr. Baskin and partners, Stipendiga present a logical procedure for applicant seeking to broaden their academic studies and relocate to Europe. The Stipendiga team follows selected applicants throughout the process, helping them to apply to to the relevant academic institutions, mentoring them before the interviews with the academic representatives from the selected institutions and then help them with the relocation process and beyond. Our system works because we help bridge the gaps between the parties, understanding the scholarship criteria for these institutions and the advantages foreign students seeking to study within these institutions. Our Process We cooperate with several academic institutions in Sweden, Austria and Portugal. As we have developed an understanding how these institutions work, what they seek and the hurdles that may apply for potential candidates, we first select the relevant applicants before approaching our contacts within these institutions. The applicant fills a basic application form, available via our “Contact Us” page, and we continue the process with those who have the preliminary attributes for a successful process. We then have several interviews with the applicants, understanding who they are, what they’re seeking and their constraints. The process includes mentoring these applicants and having them gain a better understanding what it is they should be expecting during the process, thus, when being interview by the academic representative – they are well prepared for the process. We continue with the applicants, who are accepted by these institutions, helping them with the relocation process and later on aiding them to begin an internship within the industry. YFU Austria (Youth for Understanding Austria) is a non-profit organization and part of an international educational network with partners in more than 60 different countries. It is active in the field of cross-cultural education and promotes understanding through long-term student exchange programs as well as host family programs. YFU Austria also offers an educational program called "Coloured Glasses". The program focuses on intercultural understanding, cultural identity, stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, as well as human rights. The topics are taught in free workshops for teenagers and young adults. From 2018-2019 the program is part of the EU project ACLEV ("Active Citizens Living European Values"), from 2017-2018 it has been part of another EU Project called "CGrow: Expanding intercultural Education Project".

Altpiaristner - Vereinigung Ehemaliger Piaristengymnasiastinnen

Die ALTPIARISTNER-Vereinigung ehemaliger Piaristengymnasiasten wurde 1951 anlässlich des 250-jährigen Bestandsjubiläums der Schule vom damaligen Direktor der Anstalt, Hofrat Dr. Werner Tschulik ins Leben gerufen. Der Verein bezweckt die Pflege des Zusammengehörigkeitsgedankens, der „Corporate Identity“ von Schülern, Absolventen, Lehrern und Freunden des Wiener „Piaristengymnasiums“ (BG 8) und die Unterstützung entsprechender Aktivitäten dieser Schule. Soziale, kulturelle und gesellige Aspekte des Kontaktes und der gegenseitigen Förderung von Altpiaristnern werden dabei besonders berücksichtigt. Motivation für die Mitgliedschaft ist die gemeinsam verbrachte Zeit an der Schule, meist von der Aufnahme in die erste Klasse bis zur Matura. Die Erlebnisse dieser prägenden Periode und die vermittelten Wissens- und Bildungswerte verbinden uns lebenslang.
