Learning Disabilities Association Of Prince Edward Island
The Learning Disabilities Association of PEI came into being when a group of parents met to share their common concerns about learning disabilities in the early 70s. In November 1975, the Prince Edward Island Association for Children with Learning Disabilities was incorporated. During the 70s and 80s, the Association was very active with three Chapters in the province. At one time, the Association was one of the strongest in the country. In July 2003, after a temporary absence of the organization, a new group of concerned parents and professionals met to bring about a rebirth of the Association, under the name of Learning Disabilities Association of PEI.
