In a bid to increase opportunities for the community, particularly the youth to participate in training programs that build life skills, improve livelihood and promote environmental conservation, Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust has engineered and developed the Rarieda Training and Resource centre which has been operational since January 2012. The training Centre is a registered Youth Polytechnic under the Ministry of Education Science & Technology Directorate of Youth Training.The training centre is equipped with adequate facilities to help local children and youth build on their talents, skills and resources to create a better future. The centre also aims to develop skills that promote sustainable environmental and socio – economic development; thereby reducing the disparity between Rarieda sub-County and wealthier regions in Kenya. The training center is an Eco –friendly place where youth and community members learn technical skills, ways of improving traditional farming techniques, as well as experience new technologies and environmental conservation including green house,drip irrigation, Ecosan /Urine diverting toilets, composting, tree nursery, bee keeping, value addition, water harvesting, fish farming and solar power.The program integrates Computer Studies, Communication Skills Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship,English Classes and Life-skills, so that youth learn how to apply their technical skills for successful employment and /or Self -employment.

Stelurm Elite School
It was started in 1998 in Mathare North Estate, Area 3, Nairobi- Kenya. It started as a Nursery school with 15 children, 2 teachers and two rooms. It grew with time and in 2006, the first class of 12 students sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E). They did exemplary well by achieving a mean grade of 340 marks out of 500 marks. Meaning they all transitioned to high school. This was not mean achievement owing to the fact that the students hailed from the slum communities. In 2017, another branch was opened in Utawala -Mihango. It began with both Pre- Primary and primary sections and the first lot of students were 120 students. It had day and boarding sections. In 2018, the pioneer candidates in this branch did Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E). Out of the 25 candidates, 8 qualified for enrolment in national schools across the country. The schools have grown over time and are now handling over 700 students. The qualified and dedicated teachers are passionate about child growth and development. Besides, all of them have been trained on Competency based curriculum (CBC). The learners and teachers are provided with conducive environment to enable them maximize their full potentials.
