They were project partners in the research ‘Developing Community Circus in Aotearoa New Zealand’, which led to the development of the Aotearoa New Zealand Circus Association (ANZCA), chaired by Frances until June 2017. Thomas studied Rehabilitative Pedagogy in Berlin in the late 80‘s and set up 'Circus Fantasia’, with its circus tent in the city of Rostock in 1995. It stages shows, hosts festivals and workshops with local, national and international groups. It runs professional development and team building events.
