Our students are empowered to live, learn and lead in our holistic environment, which provides ample opportunities in leadership, sport and cultural activities. Although our school is built on the values of Presbyterianism we welcome girls from all religions and backgrounds. We believe in the importance of girls’ education. Our College is small enough to ensure every girl is appreciated as an individual but sufficiently large enough to offer a full range of subjects, along with a range of sporting and cultural activities. As a school, we constantly challenge ourselves to ask, what impact we are having on our learners, how we are going and where to next. Similarly to the futures of our students, the school’s possibilities are endless, and together we strive to develop the dispositions and skills necessary for us to remain leaders in the education of young women from New Zealand and around the world. In 2018, we opened our dedicated boarding facility, Queen Margaret House, providing the only onsite accommodation for domestic and international young women wishing to study in Wellington. Trainingu2bu
Leadership guide | Conflict manager | Soft Skills Facilitation | I work with companies and leaders, creating courses and content to help professionals cope with conflict. More about me: I started my training journey in the 1990's, teaching horticulture, Prince’s Trust motivational programmes, and doing some outreach. Then I spent four years managing a conflict resolution project in schools. Mediating in the community was a great place to learn conflict management and de-escalation techniques. You never knew who you would get to meet, or how strong their feelings were going to be. Taking this experience and teaching school kids to be peer mediators was very rewarding. Peer mediation services were successfully set up in 17 schools with over 550 pupils, parents and professionals attending training. Since arriving in New Zealand the range of topics and types of people worked with continues to grow. • Health Professionals at Health NZ Waikato - supporting computer application and soft skills learning • PressGo - delivering mental health and wellbeing workshops • Learning works - delivering the NZQA level 2 in Health, Disability and aged support • The Parenting Place – delivering parenting courses • Parent to Parent – creating and delivering communication and advocacy courses I have two daughters, dogs, cats and chickens, and one husband! My own journey has been varied. I first arrived in New Zealand with toddlers, and now have two young adults I am very proud of. I lost my mother to cancer, have been made redundant 'thrice' and moved the family, including dog, to the other side of the world. I have also worked with parents in the disability sector, which provided me with a different parenting perspective.
