Noor Majan Arabic Institute

For the last decade, Noor Majan has crafted educationally rigorous Arabic language and cultural programs, equipping students with the skills and confidence to engage with the Arab world. Our name reflects the dual identity of Oman: “noor,” or light in Arabic, is symbolic of the knowledge and wisdom that was born of the Arab/Islamic influence brought to the land of Majan, the ancient name for what is today the Sultanate of Oman. Each year, we host over 200 foreign students at our institute sites in Muscat and Ibri, including foreign diplomats and study abroad students. Noor Majan is often selected as a host for winners of the U.S. Boren, Gilman, and FLAS scholarships, while we also host annually the Department of State's Critical Language Program. Our students have gone on to work in a multitude of civil society organizations, embassies, and government ministries, where they put their Arabic skills to use daily. As the leading Arabic language institute in the Sultanate, we are continually expanding. In 2022, we opened our third institute site in Nizwa to host the Daaris program: an opportunity for independent and intrepid study abroad students to immerse themselves in the cultural capital of the country. In addition to Modern Standard Arabic, our students enjoy the unique opportunity to study the Omani dialect and media Arabic. Additionally, we provide quality English training for students of all ages in Oman's interior with the help of native speakers of English. Hay Al Sharooq International School

Hay Al Sharooq International School (HASIS), formerly known as Hay Al Sharooq Private School, is fully owned and operated by Oman LNG Development Foundation (ODF). It’s committed to provide a high level of education for the children of its staff, ODF constructed close to its existing employee housing complex (Hay Al Sharooq), Sur. The two cities are connected by a brand new four lane highway, which offers drivers and passengers an opportunity to enjoy picturesque scenery.
