Green Doctors Programme
At Green Doctors Programme (GDP), we are passionate about creating a more sustainable world. GDP was founded with the intent of creating a circular economy for medical blister packaging. Using a proprietary green solvent technology, GDP is able to separate the polymer and aluminium found in pharmaceutical blister foil packaging, hence empowering hospitals, clinics and other medical service providers the ability to go green by recycling their medical packaging waste. In Singapore, 3 million pharmaceutical blisters are disposed of each month. Since local and regional recycling facilities do not accept pharmaceutical blisters, they are disposed of as general waste, incinerated and dumped in landfills. As advocates for a sustainable world, we felt the need to step in. Hence, a group of NUS students founded GDP in August 2021 to make a difference. Since then, we have expanded to a team of more than 10 members, consisting of teams specialising in research, outreach and publicity. We have formed important partnerships with prominent names such as the National University Hospital (NUH), Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) and many more. Come join us in our quest to recycle packaging and build a more sustainable world for everyone!
