Kline's Services, Inc
When people in the mid-Atlantic region see a Kline's Services truck, many automatically think it's on the way to clean a septic tank. Although Marshall Kline started the business in 1955 with only one septic tank truck, over the years, the company has grown into so much more."While that was the company's focus when my grandfather started the business, cleaning septic tanks only represents 10 percent of what we do today," said Dave Kline, the company's president and a third-generation leader of this family-owned business. Today, Kline's Services operates on the cutting edge of wastewater management. In fact, by 2013, 100 percent of waste collected by the company will be diverted from landfills and recycled into energy for other purposes. The company will achieve this through its three-phase Renewable Energy System Project."In Phase I, the Food2Fuel Initiative, we began converting brown grease from restaurants into an alternative heating fuel," Kline said."In Phase II, we employed a methane digester to create a methane-rich biogas that works with a generator to produce enough energy to power about 420 homes every day for a year." With clients in the residential, commercial, industrial and municipal sectors, Kline's Services is tapping into new horizons with state-of-the-art machinery, trained and certified professional technicians, and long-standing customer relationships. Underneath it all is one simple philosophy that stays constant:"Doing the Job Right!"

Lautenbach Recycling
A Simple Sustainable Idea! Back in 1991, our founder Troy Lautenbach was an unemployed college graduate who had an idea. Instead of dumping scrap drywall in the landfill, Troy asked the question: “What if you could take that drywall and turn it into bedding for dairy cattle?” From that first simple idea, and from Troy’s passion for sustainable waste management, reusability, and stewardship, T&T Recovery was born. When the business had outgrown its early days, Troy’s brother, Torrey, joined him in business and T&T Recovery became Lauts, Inc. Today, 30 years later, and as Lautenbach Recycling, Troy and Torrey continue to ask the question “What If”, continue to innovate, and continue to provide outstanding service and waste solutions for homes and businesses throughout Washington state and the surrounding Pacific Northwest. Lautenbach Today As a society, we’ve all become more and more accustomed to convenience; we’ve also become complacent to the waste that we create. We continue to see plastic drink bottles, canned foods, product packaging, glass bottles and jars being discarded. Our landfill space is limited, and in some cases shrinking rapidly. At Lautenbach Recycling, critical to our mission of stewardship is to develop new ways and find new technologies to handle our region’s ever-increasing waste, including: → New ways to assist businesses in containing and recycling their waste. → Partnerships that work together to find big solutions for big issues. → More community engagement and education on how we all can make a difference. We’ll continue to be tenacious in our pursuit of solutions, and passionate about sustainability.

Lcswma
What happens to trash when you throw it away? Managing society’s discards is a complicated business, but it’s our business. We are LCSWMA and our job is to manage the municipal trash and recyclable materials from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania homes and businesses, as well as refuse for the City of Harrisburg and surrounding Dauphin County communities. Once the waste is delivered by private haulers, LCSWMA employs a multi-step approach to trash disposal and processing, called an Integrated System. This Integrated System not only saves significant landfill capacity, it also creates clean, renewable energy (electricity). In fact, we generate enough energy to power 1 in 5 Lancaster County homes and businesses. The Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA) encourages the public to respond to posts and share comments that are constructive and courteous.
