The Symes
Styled in both name and design to reflect its heritage, The Symes at 150 Symes Rd. has become one of Toronto’s foremost event venues. The authentic Art Deco site is a passion project of Viviana Kohon, Namita Tandon-Walsh and Caitie Yue. “We’re thrilled with this Art Deco masterpiece with such a history in the city. We look forward to showcasing it through our client’s events”, said Viviana Kohon. “We want to keep the site’s original beauty intact while keeping with our own philosophy and vision.” With an official Heritage designation, the building has been re-envisioned for the 21st century. “It’s old, it’s young and it’s romantic,” says Namita Tandon-Walsh. “We want people to just walk in and fall in love with the space like we did when we first saw it. The building is situated on 5.5 acres next to Stock Yards Village in the vibrant Junction District, making it readily accessible by car and transit. Each room is equipped with a fully licensed bar, staff and kitchen area, sunroom, and accessible entrances and restrooms. The multipurpose venue offers more than 9,700 square feet (TBC, tweaking the plans a bit right now) of combined space in the form of two breathtaking rooms. Grand Symes: • With a capacity of 350 guests, The Grand Symes features 5,600 square feet of space, expanded by vaulted ceilings and three skylights • Vehicles can drive directly into the space, allowing for ease of catering services, art installations and even vehicle display. Scarlett Room: • Offering an intimate setting tailor-made for weddings, cocktail receptions and corporate events, this 4,100-square feet space can accommodate 250 guests. • Adjacent to the Scarlett Room, a spectacular south-facing terrace offers an unobstructed 180-degree view of the city, serving as an outdoor extension allowing for 250 guests outdoors. Additional services • Catering, party rentals, valet parking and staffing will be available through The Symes’ professional network of planning resources.

Even her hobbies see her gathering others together – as the e-bike riding organizer of Casual Cycling YEG, the founder of the Edmonton Catholic Archdiocese’ Young Adult Leaders Working Group (YALWG), a founding moderator of the Reddit community Families You Choose, and a self-professed nerd who plays Dungeons and Dragons with her dice hoard as often as possible. When she’s not growing communities or fighting imaginary monsters with magic, you can find her green-thumbing with houseplants and gardening year round. 2 Rivers Remix is a free, annual outdoor festival celebrating contemporary Indigenous music and culture. It features local, regional, and national Indigenous artists who create bold grassroots sounds that uplift Indigenous voices and defy stereotypes. Produced by 2 Rivers Remix Society, a BC-based non-profit with a majority of First Nations directors, the festival is part of a year-round movement to spotlight Indigenous creativity, identity, and community resilience. The organization’s work is rooted in education, empowerment, and cultural expression, with a focus on uplifting Indigenous youth, women, and 2-Spirit individuals. In addition to the summer festival, we host The Confluence, an annual conference-style gathering held in the winter or spring. This event brings together Indigenous trailblazers and cultural activators across diverse fields who share their stories through keynotes and workshops. While their practices vary, all are connected by a creative process grounded in Indigenous culture.
