Kõik head asjad algavad juhusest. aastal tutvusid täiesti juhuslikult peakokk Indrek Kivisalu ja gurmaan Helgor Markov. Indrek oli riiklikult tunnustatud (muuhulgas kahe Eesti presidendi) peakokk, Helgor varustas hotelle ja restorane lihaga. Juhuslikust tutvusest sai alguse hobi käia sõprade juures ning korraldada õhtusööke ja ühiseid kokkamisi. Indrek ja Helgor kokkasid, teised aitasid kaasa (eriti söömise osas). Sündmused olid väga hinnatud ja peagi tundus, et vajatakse suuremat ruumi kui sõprade koduköögid. Algselt pidi FoodStudio olema täiesti privaatne koht, kus aeg-ajalt ka mõni üritus korraldada, et oma hobi kulusid katta. Ühel hetkel ümbritses FoodStudiot nii palju huvilisi, et tavatööst tuli loobuda. Õnneks ei pidanud seda tegema raske südamega. Esimesed 12 aastat tegutses FoodStudio kesklinna salasopis Ahtri tänaval, kus korraldati lugematu hulk sündmuseid ettevõtetele ja sõpruskondadele. Oleme tutvustanud erinevate maade kööke, traditsioone aga ka uusi trende. Siin on tehtud nii toidukoolitusi ja peetud privaatseid sünnipäevi. Täna asub FoodStudio Telliskivis. Me ei kinnita kuulujutte, et pärast ühte suuremat pidu läks kogu Ahtri maja mahakandmisele, kuid fakt on see, et seda hoonet enam Tallinnas tõepoolest ei ole. aastal kolis FoodStudio Telliskivi peaväljakule. Kogu idee ühisest toidutegemisest ja heast seltskonnast pakiti kaasa. Jah, kõik hea jäi samaks, aga ruumi tuli juurde. Täna läbib FoodStudio kahte korrust, siin on maast laeni aknad, übermõnus baar ja majesteetlik trepp, mida oma jalaga kogeda. FoodStudio vaimsust kannavad nüüd edasi Jaan ja Ken. Jaan on õppinud Indreku kokakäe all 5 aastat ja ujub taseme poolest juba vaikselt mööda. Ken on see, kes näeb ja haldab suurt pilti. Tema mõtleb emotsioonile, millega seltskond uksest sisse astub ja mis peamine – millise emotsiooniga väljub. Jaan ja Ken on sama võitmatu tandem nagu Indrek ja Helgor, aga täiesti oma iseloomuga.
