Artasam" was an Art and Cultural institute which created and held different music and cultural events in Iran. I established this institute as a means to get necessary permissions from the relevant authoritise in Iran to make such events possible. For holding concerts, music festivals and cultural events, it is a requirement to liaise with Iranian Government Ministries, specifically the Ministry of Culture to get all necessary permissions. The Ministry only provided their approval after satisfying themselves of a number of different aspects. This includes, relevant security checks for artists (this was usually a more lengthy process for foreign artists), approving the content of the event in detail, the quality of the artist (based on previous work, in which I was required to provide samples of) and consideration of a long list of Islamic laws - which included particular restrictions for female artists, the genre's in which I could work in, and restrictions in how the event/concert was conducted and directed. In addition to the above, the institute also had the following functions: • Establishing contracts with stakeholders, including hiring venues, photography crews. videography crew, advertising teams and graphics team • Seeking and receiving sponsorship from private sectors • Meet with soloists and concertmasters to discuss and prepare for performances. • Meet with composers to discuss interpretations of their work.
