Lilydale Instant Lawn commenced operation in 1985 with Garry & Peter Lusk on a small rural property based in Wonga Park. Due to rapid expansion a larger 70 acre property was quickly acquired in Yarra Glen. Over the past 30 years, Lilydale Instant Lawn has gone from strength to strength with Garry Lusk at the helm as Managing Director, Denise Lusk running OH & S & HR and Steve Cole as General Manager, it is now the leading turf producer in Melbourne. Lilydale Instant Lawn’s farm portfolio now comprises in excess of 1500 acres in total, including the original 70 acre farm and head office based in Yarra Glen, three Pakenham farms and a large scale sand based farm at Bairnsdale. With the acquisition of the Bairnsdale property in 2011, it has given us the flexibility to supply a variety of soil based turf products including sand based instant turf to service the sports and racing industries.

McGregor Gourlay’s origins go all the way back to 1897, with the establishment of JA McGregor & Co Stock and Station agents in Warialda NSW. Over the decades JA McGregor & Co evolved to specialise in crop inputs, animal health and farm merchandise, establishing a second location in Croppa Creek NSW in the late 1970’s and becoming a trusted supply partner to farmers in the region. In 1987 JA McGregor & Co partnered with a group of local cotton industry professionals to establish McGregor Gourlay Agricultural Services in Moree NSW. The business grew quickly and established a second branch in Goondiwindi QLD within a few years, and then in 1998 McGregor Gourlay and JA McGregor came together as one to become a single entity with 4 locations in Moree, Goondiwindi, Croppa Creek and Warialda. The business has since continued to expand to become one of the most dynamic privately owned rural services companies in Australia, employing over 170 staff in 17 branches located across North West NSW, the NSW Northern Rivers, and the Southern QLD Border Rivers and Darling Downs regions.
