After growing up on northern cattle stations and then working for over 30 years pioneering outback solar power and pumping systems, Mike Farrell, director of Ecoenergy Australia came face to face with the challenges cattlemen have in monitoring and controlling their bores and infrastructure. The unending bore runs are a costly exercise for primary producers and burn many man hours, huge volumes of fuel, tyres and vehicles and waste farmer’s most precious commodity, Time. Communications expert Harvey Conroy along with Mike started building basic prototypes more than 15 years ago and as cost-effective technology evolved so did the product. After years of R&D with boots on the ground, talking to real farmers about their needs and with the more recent help of talented electronics engineer Chris Glanville, the inherent features of ecosat were honed into the intelligent patent pending product it is today with a committed, multi-disciplinary team.

Mr. John Dieter Kahlbeter was the founder and driving force that contributed to where Twynam is today. Emigrating from Germany in 1954, the forward-thinking and charismatic young man possessed a thirst for knowledge. He learned rapidly that this new thriving Australian economy had a lot to offer. Starting with nothing but his passion for succeeding, he began this chapter of his illustrious business career in steel importing and exporting. He also heavily fostered the need for domestic steel sales for what was becoming a rapidly growing country. He fell in love with Australia and all the country had to offer. Seeking to build an affinity with the land, The Twynam company was created in 1969 when Mr. Kahlbetzer purchased a 100-hectare hobby farm near Picton New South Wales, called 'Razorback.' This smallholding was the starting point for his interest in rural Australia. Between 1969 and 1979, Mr. Kahlbetzer purchased more properties, but it was the purchase of 7 significant properties, known as Naroo Pastoral Company in 1979, that the Group's focus shifted predominantly to agriculture. For the next 20 years, Twynam continued to expand, buying and selling agricultural properties to strengthen its portfolio and it was during this growth, in 1991 that Johnny joined the company as COO.

WoolProducers Australia (WPA) is the national peak industry body representing farmers whose primary business is growing wool. We are the national voice on behalf of producers. WPA is the only national organisation that can speak on behalf of the mainstream wool industry and represent the concerns and hopes of wool growers. WPA is led by a National Executive made up of wool growers from around Australia. Each state farmer organisation member is represented on the executive, while another three members are directly elected by growers Australia-wide. State Farming Organisation Members: • AgForce Queensland • NSW Farmers’ Association • Victorian Farmers Federation • Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association • Livestock SA • Western Australian Farmers Federation This executive structure sets WPA apart from other grower groups and gives it the mantle of the true democratic voice of the Australian wool industry. The policy contribution to the National Farmers Federation includes environmental laws and regulations, climate change, water, industrial relations, taxation, international trade issues, economics and training. WPA is the sole wool industry member of Animal Health Australia, and as such, carries a significant responsibility for decision making on behalf of the industry in the event of an emergency animal disease outbreak.

Later, the team developed 'Pukawidgi', a smart farm in New South Wales, enhancing farming efficiency and mitigating drought impacts through satellite-aided management.
