Already in the late 1950’s Imperial Seed was moving from its primary focus of processing and marketing quality seed oats and seed wheat into proprietary forage and turf seed multiplication. The expansion continued to the point that by the late 1970’s Imperial Seed’s processing was entirely focused on the forage and turf seed market. Nous sommes une ferme apicole familiale qui élevons des abeilles et récoltons des produits de la ruche de haute qualité. Notre miellerie est située à Saint-Didace au Québec et nos ruchers sont aménagés dans les régions de la Mauricie et Lanaudière, plus précisément dans les MRC de Maskinongé et de D'Autray. C'est sur ce territoire que nous pratiquons une apiculture artisanale, sédentaire et respectueuse de l'environnement en misant sur des méthodes approuvées pour l'apiculture biologique. Nous recherchons des ruchers permanents ayant une grande diversité florale et des cultures sans insecticides tels les pâturages (foin, trèfle, luzerne), le sarrasin et l'asclépiade. Ainsi, nos abeilles ne sont pas déplacées en vue des pollinisations commerciales de bleuet, canneberge et canola. Notre miel est désoperculé à la main et extrait à froid. Liquéfié à basse température, il est non pasteurisé. Il est d'ailleurs non filtré, contenant ainsi davantage de pollen, de propolis et de cire d'abeille, conservant ainsi son goût naturel tel le rayon de miel. Notre miel brut, quant à lui, est un miel cru non filtré et cristallisé naturellement. Style crémeux, mais non baratté mécaniquement. Notre pollen frais cru congelé n'est ni séché ni déshydraté, préservant ainsi le maximum de ses propriétés thérapeutiques, ses ferments lactiques, ses bactéries, ses antioxydants, ses enzymes, ses levures vivantes et sa sensationnelle saveur florale.
