Crsad Centre De Recherche En Sciences Animales De Deschambault

Le Centre de recherche en sciences animales de Deschambault (CRSAD) est établi sur une propriété qui appartenait autrefois à la famille seigneuriale des « La Gorgendière ». À l'origine, en 1918, la Station de recherche agricole de Deschambault était une pépinière créée par le ministère de l'Agriculture pour remplacer les pommiers détruits après le rude hiver de 1917. En 1931, la pépinière devient officiellement une Ferme école pour ensuite devenir une Station de recherche agricole en 1952. Son mandat est alors de réaliser des travaux de recherche en zootechnie, en horticulture et en grande culture. En 1986, la Station devient le Service de recherche en zootechnie afin de mieux conduire toutes les recherches intra­ muros en zootechnie. Au milieu des années 1990, le ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) décide d'associer des partenaires au financement de la Station de la recherche dans le but de réduire les fonds gouvernementaux. Le partenariat devient alors le mode d'intervention privilégié par le MAPAQ pour soutenir les activités de recherche de la Station. En 1998, le MAPAQ et l'Université Laval fondent le Centre de recherche en sciences animales de Deschambault (CRSAD). Ce nouvel organisme à but non lucratif est créé en vertu de la partie Ill de la Loi sur les compagnies. Le lancement du CRSAD devient officiel le 26 octobre Pour en connaitre davantage, vous pouvez consulter la brochure qui suit, qui retrace des moments clés de la vie du site expérimental de Deschambault sous forme de points de repère. Son contenu est présenté sous forme de résumés et d'extraits de documents tels que: Le 70e anniversaire 1918-1988 de la Direction de la recherche agro-alimentaire du MAPAQ, La Station de recherche de Deschambault d'après l'historien Jean Provencher et autres documents internes du CRSAD.
