History of the Group of Companies VITAGRO begins with the foundation of Private Enterprise “Promyslova kompaniya” in that in the first stage of the activity was engaged in trading of fuel and lubricants. In 2001 Private Enterprise “Promyslova kompaniya” expanded its scope of activities and began to provide the farms of Khmelnitskiy region with services in the land cultivation with agricultural machinery and freighting. In March 2004 Private Enterprise "Agroprom" was founded. Its main objective was the implementation of plant protection means, and distribution of winter & spring seeds and industrial crops. In October 2004 Private Enterprise “Agrarna kompaniya 2004” was founded. Having started its activities in the village Popivtsi of Volochysk district in Khmelnitskiy region, which tilled 1,200 hectares already, Private Enterprise “Agrarna kompaniya 2004” has increased its sown area of nearly hectares in 2007. In 2008 Private Enterprise “Agrarna kompaniya 2004” merged with Private Enterprise “Chemerivtsi prodovolcha kompaniya”, which tilled the land in the area of Ivakhnivtsi and Svirshkivtsi village councils in Chemerivtsi district. This merger increased the area of Private Enterprise “Agrarna kompaniya 2004” agricultural land nearly twofold to hectares. During 2009-2011 many agricultural enterprises of Volochysk, Gorodok, Kamyanets-Podilskiy, Chemerivtsi, Khmelnitskiy and Yarmolyntsi districts join Private Enterprise “Agrarna kompaniya 2004”. At the beginning of 2012, due to associated enterprises, the area of arable lands of Group of Companies VITAGRO is hectares. This allows reaching a higher level of business development.

Key specialization of PEAT LAND UKRAINE LLC is the production of high quality peat substrates for use in professional horticulture. We can produce approximately 500 m³ of substrate a year. We are the first company in Ukraine which uses the latest technological methods in peat extraction and production on its basis high quality peat substrates. During the manufacturing process we use only ecologically clean raw materials as well as a range of different additives, high quality mineral fertilizers from worldwide recognized producers. Our company strives to become the leading producer of peat substrates in Ukraine and puts much efforts on expanding its markets within Europe and world. In addition, we can order wild herbs: blueberries, cranberries, sea buckthorn, mushrooms, etc. Our farm is located 75 km from the border with Poland, which facilitates export logistics.

A Dutch Farmer In Ukraine

Kees Huizinga en Emmeke Vierhout wonen al 20 jaar met hun dochters zo'n 200 kilometer ten zuiden van Kiev. Ze hebben een groot bedrijf van circa hectare akkerbouw en groenten, melkkoeien en 400 varkens. Door de oorlog heeft Emmeke met de kinderen de boerderij verlaten en woont nu in Nederland waar ze 24/7 werkt samen met Stichting De Leeuw Kyiv om humanitaire goederen in te zamelen en te transporteren naar Oekraïne. Deze stichting wordt gebruikt voor fondsenwerving om de aankoop en het vervoer van alle benodigde goederen te betalen. In de eerste maand na het uitbreken van de oorlog zijn er zo’n 50 trucks volgeladen met zeker 1,5 miljoen euro aan waarde naar diverse plekken in Oekraïne gebracht. Onze kracht ligt in ons grote (boeren)netwerk dat we hebben in Oekraïne en de vele lokale contacten waardoor we dingen het land in kunnen krijgen waar ze het meest nodig zijn; plaatsen waar de grote hulporganisaties geen mensen ter plaatse hebben. Onze lokale netwerken zorgen voor een passende distributie. Particulieren of bedrijven, we zouden uw steun op prijs stellen, zodat we kunnen blijven doen wat we doen voor de bevolking van Oekraïne. Ondertussen is Kees in Oekraïne om te gaan zaaien en het bedrijf in deze tijden van oorlog te blijven leiden. Tegelijkertijd probeert hij op alle manieren de mensen in de rest van de wereld duidelijk te maken wat de catastrofale gevolgen zijn van deze oorlog voor de wereldwijde voedselvoorziening. Als deze oorlog niet snel stopt, zijn de lange termijngevolgen niet te overzien. Oekraïne en Rusland samen zorgen voor ruim 30% van de wereldwijde export van graan. Dat valt voor een heel groot deel weg door deze oorlog. De gevolgen voelen we nu al, maar zullen we pas echt gaan merken in de komende herfst. Maar dan is het te laat. Deze oorlog moet nu stoppen voor het te laat is.

Agroindustrial Group Arnika

Agroindustrial group Arnika is located in Poltava region and cultivates more than 15 thousand ha of land. Arnika grows food grade wheat, food and feed soybean, food and feed corn, technical hemp, oleic brown flax and high oleic sunflower. The production is certified according to EU, BioSuisse, NOP USDA, COR and JAS standards. Based on the results of 2017/2018 marketing years, Arnika became the largest in Ukraine exporter of its own organic goods to EU countries. The system of control for keeping organic standards is implemented in the company. It includes GPS monitoring, bar coding and sealing of all big bags with organic goods. Arnika has its own organic elevator with the capacity of simultaneous storage of about 25 thousand tons of goods and is equipped with modern cleaning and drying equipment. Also in the year 2018 photo separator was put into operation and it allows to prepare food grade goods with purity 99,9%. Developed logistics infrastructure and established connections with sea terminals allows to ship goods by different types of transportation: vessels, sea containers, rail wagons and trucks. During 2016-2018 the company exported more than 26 thousand tons of organic goods to Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Lithuania, Estonia, Canada and Japan. To conduct effective organic farming Arnika uses solely modern machinery. That is why during years 2016-2018 Arnika invested more than 8 million Euro to modernize the machinery park. Also company has its own Research and Development Center. Experts of this center work to introduce new varieties of plants resistant to mechanical cultivation and suitable for organic farming for own sowing as well as for selling seed material. In addition they develop and tryout effective agro technologies. The company unites transparency and sustainability of business, modern approaches to agro production, responsibility and professionalism of staff.
