Chasdei Kaduri, named after Kaduri Samorali, is a registered Canadian Charitable Organization, founded in 2013. It is the largest volunteer-run Jewish organization that provides free weekly delivery of non-perishable food, fresh bakery goods, fresh produce, eggs and dairy to the thousands of needy Jewish families in the GTA. Our clients get online access to our stock of thousands of Kosher items. They shop online and get their personal selections delivered to their door every week, for free. Based on the Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam ("Repairing the World") and Chesed ("Kindness"), we feel a shared responsibility to help those in need. Diabetes Hope Foundation (DHF) was created in by the Founder and Chair, Barbara Pasternak, who has three children, two of whom live with type 1 insulin dependent diabetes. As her boys grew and made their way through the medical system, Barbara became acutely aware of gaps in the healthcare system for youth with diabetes. Diabetes Hope Foundation was created to fill that gap and help families struggling with the financial and emotional challenges of children living with diabetes. We believe that by focusing on these youth, we can create healthier and more productive adults tomorrow. OUR MISSION Our programs reward, empower and provide peer education and support for youth in transition to enable them to live successfully WITHIN and BEYOND diabetes. Working closely with medical and healthcare professionals specializing in youth and diabetes across Ontario, Diabetes Hope Foundation continues to respond to the changing needs of these youth by providing programs and support when and where they need it most. With our help, these children can grow to adulthood with greater awareness of the importance of proper management of their diabetes, greater confidence and self-esteem and the ability to live as healthy and productive adults.
