The Department of Educational Foundations and Administration(DEFA) was established in 1986 when the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University was established. It offers many programs including MA in educational administration (different tracks: school administration, educational supervision, educational planning, higher education) and PHD in educational administration. VISION: The Department seeks sustainable sustainable educational quality and improvement at local and regional levels in the fields of Educational Foundations and Administration. MISSION: 1. To assure quality of programs for professional fields of educational foundations and administration. To assure quality in academic research. To attain quality in community services. To build effective partnerships with related institutions يعتبر قسم الأصول والإدارة التربوية أحد أقسام كلية التربية بجامعة السلطان قابوس، وقد نشأ متزامنا مع نشأة الكلية عام 1986م. ويقدم القسم خدماته التربوية لجميع طلبة الجامعة على مستوى البكالوريوس، وكذلك يقدم برامج على مستوى الدراسات العليا والمتمثلة في برنامج ماجستير ادارة تربوية بمساراته الأربعة(التخطيط التربوي، والإدارة المدرسيةن وإدارة التعليم العالي، والإشراف التربوي. رؤية القسم: السعي نحو الجودة والتطوير التربوي المستدام على المستوى المحلي والإقليمي في مجالات الأصول والإدارة التربوية. رسالة القسم: • الجودة في برامج إعداد المتخصصين في مجالات الأصول والإدارة التربوية • الجودة في البحث العلمي • الجودة في خدمة المجتمع • الشراكة الفاعلة مع المؤسسات ذات الاختصاص

Gulf College

The origin of the institution dates to 1990 when it was established as a professional and vocational training provider in the Sultanate of Oman. In 1996, the training institute obtained the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for offering the master’s degree in business administration (MBA) through an International Outreach arrangement with the University of Hull in the UK. In 2003, it was granted the approval from Ministry of Higher Education Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to upgrade the status from a training institute to a Higher Education College. Currently, the College offers Bachelor of Arts programmes (Honours) in Accounting and Finance, Business Economics, Marketing Management and Business and Management Studies with pathways in Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management, Bachelor of Science programmes (Honours) in Business Information Systems, Sport Management and Computer Science with pathways in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Mobile Computing in academic affiliation with Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met), UK. In addition, the College offers full-time and part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA)(general) or with pathways in Project Management, Finance, Marketing, Islamic Finance and Health Sector Management in academic affiliation with Cardiff Met.
