Bora Laskin Law Library

The Library is named in honour and memory of Bora Laskin (1912-1984), one of the founding figures of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law. As a faculty member, he was an outstanding scholar, particularly in the fields of constitutional and labour law. The Library's extensive collection, supports the curriculum and research interests of the Faculty of Law. It includes primary legal materials from the major common law countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom as well as from other selected jurisdictions. The Library subscribes to over 700 scholarly legal periodicals from around the world and collects legal and law-related texts and treatises. The Library subscribes to a rich array of electronic services which extend the Library's resources far beyond its own walls. Access to these resources is available to eligible library users through the library catalogue or the library's electronic database collection.

Ukrainian Shelf At The Moncton Public Library

Ukrainian Shelf at the Moncton Public Library was launched in July 2024 by volunteer Tanya Horodyska. The project promotes Ukrainian culture, supports newcomers from Ukraine, and helps English- and French-speaking residents learn about Ukraine’s history and traditions. It includes Ukrainian books for preserving language and heritage, and English/French books to share Ukraine’s story with the wider community. Проєкт Полиця української літератури в бібліотеці Монктона (Канада) започаткований у липні 2024 року волонтеркою з України Tanya Horodyska. Його мета — популяризація української культури, підтримка українців, які переїхали до Канади, та інформування англо- і франкомовних жителів про історію та традиції України. Книги українською мовою допомагають українцям зберегти зв’язок із Батьківщиною, мовою та культурою. Після 2022 року багато дітей опинилися в іншомовному середовищі, тому важливо дати їм можливість читати рідною мовою, пишатися своїм корінням і розвивати критичне мислення. Так виникла ідея створити українську полицю та читацький клуб, щоб заохочувати дорослих і дітей відвідувати бібліотеку. Книги англійською та французькою мовами знайомлять місцевих жителів із глибокою історією України, руйнуючи радянські міфи. Вони показують справжню Україну — від Трипільської культури й Київської Русі до сучасності, формуючи об’єктивне розуміння серед англо- та франкомовної спільноти Нью-Брансвіка.

Bibliothèque Université Laval

À la croisée de la culture et de la connaissance, des espaces et des technologies, de l'apprentissage et de la recherche, du patrimoine et du futur. La Bibliothèque de l'Université Laval, lieu de découverte et d’innovation, contribue à former une société plus savante et mieux éclairée, au bénéfice de la collectivité. Spécialisée dans toutes les disciplines enseignées à l'Université Laval, la Bibliothèque de l'institution abrite des millions de documents variés: livres, périodiques, thèses, films, musique, cartes, atlas, statistiques, etc, en plus de donner accès à des milliers de ressources électroniques par son site Web. D'hier à aujourd'hui En 1852, le Séminaire de Québec fonde l'Université Laval et met à sa disposition sa bibliothèque de 15 volumes. Jusqu'à 1964, tous les volumes acquis par les deux institutions ont constitué une seule collection. Jusqu'à son aménagement en 1968 dans le pavillon Jean-Charles-Bonenfant, la Bibliothèque continue de développer ses collections et ses services afin de remplir adéquatement son rôle de soutien à l'enseignement et à la recherche de l'Université Laval. Aujourd'hui, deux principaux sites abritent ses services et ses collections. La majeure partie de la collection se trouve à la Bibliothèque située au pavillon Jean-Charles-Bonenfant. Les collections scientifiques sont pour leur part regroupées à la Bibliothèque au pavillon Alexandre-Vachon. En 2021-2022, le budget d'acquisition des collections de la Bibliothèque s'est élevé à 13,6 millions de dollars. La Bibliothèque de l’Université Laval fait partie du Partenariat des bibliothèques universitaires québécoises, créé en 2019, qui vise à doter les établissements de plateformes innovantes de gestion de l’information et à développer des services communs, afin de mieux répondre aux besoins de la communauté universitaire.

Le Réseau BIBLIO est un organisme subventionné par le ministère de la Culture et des Communications.
