FromThePage is software for transcribing documents and collaborating on texts with others. Our platform allows people to see an image of a page and to transcribe the text from that page. We try to keep things as simple as possible, because frankly, transcribing text is hard enough. FromThePage is simple technology that lets people collaborate to produce usable data from historical texts. Volunteers contribute their passion and expertise; archives and libraries highlight their collections. The results are magical: discoveries about material; public awareness of historic reality, and better public access to records.

Galion Public Library

Galion Public Library strives to enrich the lives of the citizens of the Galion area with a variety of information, services, and programming. The library was founded in 1901. Since that time our collection has grown to around items. Initially the library was housed in a small log cabin, which is now located in Heise Park. The current library building was built in 1904, partly with Carnegie funds, and later expanded in 1991 to create room for an ever-growing collection of materials and services. Besides a dedicated professional staff, the Galion Public Library is also blessed with an active Friends of the Library group. The friends hold seasonal bake sales and bazaars, as well as managing the library's running book sale. The funds raised by the Friends are used to better the services provided by the library. Hillside Public Library

In 1955, an enthusiastic group in Hillside received a charter to organize as the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber's first undertaking was to start a Public Library for Hillside. The Illinois Library Association promised books to be put at the disposal of a Library as soon as space could be found. A local resident also donated many books from her own collection. On St. Patrick's Day, 1962, the library reopened under the sponsorship of the Kiwanis Club. Within two hours, 168 library cards were issued to children and another 75 became cardholders the next day. At this time, the Friends of the Library was formed to support library service by volunteering as librarians and to acquire more books for the library. Fund drives were started and the library fund was created to establish a permanent service. In 1976, the Public Library building at 405 Hillside Avenue was completed and is continuing to serve its 8,155 local residents today with holdings of approximately titles and a variety of media from books to DVD's, from computers to comics.

Horry County Memorial Library System

Horry County Library System As early as the mid-19th century, library services were offered in Horry County. By 1855, the Presbyterian Church had established library services in Conway. In 1877, the Burroughs School began and maintained a library for public use. By 1935, a movement to establish a public library in Conway was underway. A group of about thirty citizens of the community met in the home of Colonel H. L. Buck and appointed Mr. M. A. Wright as temporary chairman of the Library Association. This group worked to establish a county library system, and in February of 1936, L. D. Magrath was appointed chairman of the Library Committee.

The original Carnegie building was completed in 1906 with money from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and some local funds. The renovation and addition project were completed in 1991 and made possible through a bond issue. The new facility quadrupled the space available to meet the needs of our growing community.

The Keene Public Library is a energetic library in a vibrant town of 23,106. We are located in Cheshire County, with a county population of 77,329 people. Keene is home to three local colleges: Keene State College, Antioch University and River Valley Community College. The Keene Public Library's current location officially opened in 1898. After numerous additions, culminating in the 2019 connection to a renovated neighboring mansion which had been a Mason Hall, we are the largest public library building in New Hampshire at sq. ft. From the very beginning, we have been a vital source of information and innovation. The Library provides five meeting rooms, an auditorium, makerspace, two large event spaces and classroom for preschool programs. The meeting and event spaces are also available for public meetings or private events. The Friends of the Keene Public Library, a non-profit established in 1980, and the Library Trustees provide additional support to the Library and staff in areas not funded by the City budget.
