Protoporia is one of the largest bookshops in Greece. Founded in 1974 in Athens, Greece, by Vangelis Trikeriotis, Protoporia's main aim always has been to provide avid readers with the cheapest possible prices for books. Back in the day, Protoporia was found at the cult small basement on Koletti street at Exarheia. It's success swiftly moved Protoporia to Gravias street, number 7, and a few years later in 1988 to the Gravias 3-5 flagship store. Since then, Protoporia has had faithful customers of all age groups, but with one thing in common: A big love for books and reading. All this, alongside with excellent customer service, and really friendly and well-read stuff has led to Proptoporia's success. Protoporia also brags about having the largest electronic bookshop in Greece, with excellent customer service, prices and speedy delivery.

Rizazoe

Our Inspiration The Greek land. Our source of inspiration. It is home to over 1700 endemic plants, with its main symbol the olive tree. It has been a symbol of culture for over years in the wider Mediterranean area. Until today, the economy and trade of the region relies heavily on this tree and its derivatives (olive oil, timber, etc.). Olive trees are perennial and thus protected and treated accordingly. In order to continue to be productive, they must be pruned regularly. The resulting timber is almost impossible to process for industrial timber, and therefore mostly ends up as firewood. But when nature creates, the result is unique. We created the Riza Zoe brand after we reconnected the fruit to the tree that produced it. We put the fruit into the wood that gave birth to it. Innovation Our goal was to highlight this natural work of art through reconstruction. Led by Anastasios Tasiopoulos, an environmental engineer with a keen environmental sense, our team recognised the rebirth of the story of each piece of wood. Instead of burning them, we collected them with great care and love for this wood and designed innovative packaging to accommodate the products of the Greek land. For the first time in the food industry, the visualization of the content through wooden packaging was made possible. Our Prospects Our goal is for Greek products to reach every corner of earth. We have both the inspiration and the way to do it. New designs, innovative ideas and a wide range of applications is the recipe to highlight the wealth we have in our hands. The CAD – CAM design package we utilize is SIEMENS NX. There is also the capacity to copy an original piece (Reversing Engineering) in addition to drawing up mechanical designs. CNC Machines Department The automated machine department is comprised of 6 CNC lathes, 9 CNC milling machines, 1 Sprint and 1 CNC planner. Conventional Machinery Department This department is comprised of 7 conventional lathes, 1 Boring, 2 conventional milling machines, 2 conventional planers, sawmills, drills, etc. Welding – Editing Department Our company is certified for the methods being applied (WPQR) and has personnel – welders certified by an approved certification body (MIRTEC S.A.). What is more, the assembly of mechanical parts is conducted in this particular department. Quality Control and Quality Management Department In the quality control department, the necessary controls of raw materials being used in the production process are carried out. Those materials are also accompanied by their respective quality certificates. We check the quality of the products being manufactured or repaired by our company through all stages of production, each item at a time, using the appropriate measuring equipment we own and is certified by approved bodies.

Synthetica

Artificial Intelligence applications, based on Machine Learning methods, are widely accepted as promising technologies in manufacturing and are successfully used in many computer-vision tasks in manufacturing. These state-of-the-art techniques are requiring large volumes of annotated datasets for training. However, such an approach is expensive, prone to errors and labor as well as time intensive, especially in highly complex and dynamic production environments. Synthetic datasets can be utilized for accelerating the training phase of DL by creating suitable training datasets. The SYNTHETICA project has developed a framework for generating datasets through a chain of simulation and Digital Twin tools. The framework is used for generating synthetic images of parts that are being manufactured. SYNTHETICA is applying this new paradigm in two industrial computer-vision pilot cases: a) aluminum profiles detection with ALUMINCO and ii) feature recognition of one-of-a-kind 3D printed parts with Prima Additive.
