GIPA FOODS is a brand name for GIPA FOODS & GENERAL SUPPLIES LIMITED which is a local food and its related products company with a company registration number 154150447 which is currently focus wise on cassava processing and value addition. We are focusing on the Cassava value addition by extracting cassava products mainly Starch in order to fight the scarcity of cassava starch in Tanzania as well as minimizing Post harvest losses that small holder farmers who are main cassava producers face due to lack of reliable technology and access to market. GIPA FOODS & GENERAL SUPPLIES LIMITED anticipates using modern technology in processing cassava starch hence transform some lives in Africa. Our main products from cassava crop are Tapioca starch, High quality cassava flour, and Cassava chips. However we also turn our by products (Cassava peels and pulps)that could be regarded as wastes into valuable ingredients for animal feeds. Apart from Cassava starch processing as our main activity, we also engage ourselves in other businesses related to food products and non food products like processing and supply of food products and non food products through our shops and tenders. The company is managed and owned by Tanzanians targeting at transforming lives in Africa through minimization of postharvest losses along the supply chain and increase income to small holder farmers as well as to enhance availability of food locally and internationally. So far we have achieved to contribute to the market hundreds of tones of our products to consumers industries, restaurants as well as domestic consumers. We have managed to rescue hundred of tones of Cassava roots from local farmers that were at risk of spoiling due to limited market access. Remarkably, As among of our achievements so far, we have been recognised and honored an award as the best agricultural produce processor of the year 2021/2022 in Kilimo Marathon awards and expo.
