Reederei Hiddensee, a shipping company subsidiary of the Weiße Flotte, was founded in 1995 to operate all the regular services from Zingst, Wiek, Stralsund and Schaprode to the island of Hiddensee. Through the establishment of Reederei Hiddensee the area of operations of the Weiße Flotte expanded to include ferry services (Glewitz - Stahlbrode, Warnemünde - Hohe Düne, Wittow Nord - Wittow-Süd) and excursions on the Baltic Sea. Weiße Flotte and Reederei Hiddensee carry annually 3.4 million passengers and vehicles. Modern passenger vessels of the "Boddenkreuzer" type, a cargo ferry as well as fast water taxis make up the fleet that connects the island of Hiddensee with the island of Rügen all year round. During the summer months, connections from Stralsund, Wiek and Zingst are offered additionally. New or modernised passenger/car vessels are deployed for ferry services in Warnemünde (Hohe Düne), Wittower Fähre (Rügen) and Stahlbrode/Glewitz (Rügen).
