Roba Metals

Founded in 1937 in Amsterdam under the name “Roba Metallurgische Handelsmaatschappij” by Robert Baruch and Willy Cohn, Roba originally limited its activities to trading and processing metal waste. In 1948, Roba began trading in semi-finished steel products. When the company outgrew its premises in Amsterdam in the 1960s, it was relocated to a site in IJsselstein. Nowadays, Roba Metals is fully part of the Roba Group. Recycling It all started in 1937 when Roba began recycling non-ferrous metals. Ever since, the Recycling department has broadened its expertise more and more in the areas of aluminium, copper, zinc and nickel processing. As a rule, Roba carries out both storage and treatment in-house. Additionally, the quality standard for the metal waste is determined in Roba’s own modern laboratory. Steel For decades, Roba has been a leading supplier of flat steel products. Our strength lies in our extensive knowledge and experience, which is a major asset in processing a variety of steel qualities in our service center. As well as processing steel parent coils into slit widths and sheets, we can also supply mill ordered material to our customers. Stainless steel & aluminium Roba is a leading supplier of large quantities of stainless steel and aluminium, mainly in sheet and strip. Roba is focussing on the higher end of the market. Our service center in IJsselstein helps to realise this ambition. In this metal processing facility, we make use of a cut-to-length line to produce sheet and slitted strip, as well as two grinding and polishing machines to achieve a wide range of surface finishes. Non-ferrous metals Semi-finished copper, zinc and lead products are essential for various industries, particularly for the construction sector. Thanks to an effective logistic system, a complete range of products, and competitive prices, Roba is the partner of choice for buyers and suppliers alike.

COIL is the world's largest anodiser, providing anodising on aluminum flat rolled products for a wide range of architectural, Industrial and decorative applications. Since 50 years, COIL has been the world reference in quality and has an unrivalled dimensional capacity and range of treatments and is the only company producing anodised aluminium coil and sheet up to maximum mm in width and up to maximum 5 mm in gauge. COIL currently has 3 horizontal anodising lines and 1 vertical anodising line in Landen, Belgium and 2 horizontal anodising lines in Bernburg, Germany.

Independent Iodine

Independent Iodine is specialised in the distribution of iodine, iodine derivatives and nitrates. Moreover the company sources iodine containing effluents from the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. IODINE Independent Iodine represents outside the Latin American continent 2 Chilean iodine producers: ACF Minera and Algorta Norte. IODINE DERIVATIVES Independent Iodine represents the Brazilian company Incasa on the European market for the distribution of iodine derivatives for technical and pharmaceutical applications. NITRATES Independent Iodine represents the Chilean nitrate producers ACF Minera and Algorta Norte for industrial applications. Products include amongst others, sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate. EFFLUENTS Independent Iodine buys effluents that contain iodine from producers of iodine derivatives. Those effluents are treated in a controlled way with respect for the environment. In this way a scarce raw material is recycled.

Standard Gold

Standard Gold” was founded by the “Pereira Coutinho” (Governor of the State of Bahia) and “Sousa Pereira (Pimenta de Castro)” (Marquis of Minas and Governor of Brazil). Their descendants started the company’s main pillars with the help of several agreements established between Portugal and England from the century on, namely the Anglo-Portuguese Peace and Commercial Treaty of 1642, the Treaty of Westminster and Alliance of 1654, the Treaty of the Hague 1661, and the Methuen Treaty of 1703. All this led England to concentrate the mineral reserves that helped to create the traditional English banking system, being the main financial center of Europe. A factor that turned possible the financing and structuring of the English Industrial Revolution, on a multilateral dimension. Between the South American golden period of the century, also Africa and especially the Portuguese colonies were a key region for the trading of gold. Nowadays, it is currently owned by Rockefeller Holdings, an association formed in 1875 by John Davison Rockefeller (Founder of Standard Oil Co. Inc.) and the Brochado and Pereira Coutinho families, who formed the so-called “The Golden Triangle”. The current CEO is Francisco J Pimenta de Castro (descendant of the Co-founder, Marquis of Minas and Governor of Brazil) and the current COO is António D S Brochado Pereira Coutinho (descendant of the Co-founders Brochado and Pereira Coutinho, where they also helped to create the current banking system in Portugal). Until today, the founding families have maintained and kept the traditon, being conservative and operating off-market. Nonetheless, from the XXI century on, they started with their in-market models, contributing to the dignification and dissemination of this precious commodity, which represents the foundation of the World economy.

Allard-Europe N.V

Allard-Europe is a foundry built for jobbing work, prototypes, single pieces and for small series. We produce iron as well as steel in a wide range of alloys. Casting weights can range from a few kg up to 30t. The foundry has its own pattern shop, cleaning shop and machining shop. The company is equipped with the latest furnaces for the heat-treatment of castings. Machining of the castings can be done in-house. For this purpose 3 full CNC vertical lathes with a diameter range from 2 up to 10 meters are available. These are complemented by 2 milling machines with a range of 2x3 meters. Allard-Europe can offer complete casting engineering services. For this purpose it's equiped with Unigraphics CAD/CAM software, casting simulation and Metronor 3D non-contact measuring equipment.
