The International Association of Transport and Communications Museums (IATM) is a global umbrella organisation supporting the work of museums in the field. It consists of more than 100 members in over 30 countries. The network meets the aims and questions of its members with passion and imagination. It exists to promote the professional networking of its members in order to enhance the quality of their work for the benefit of society, visitors and customers. Communication and cooperation are the main tasks of IATM to support the represented museums in their work. Among others, its annual conferences, a global community of professionals, a fellowship programme and different resources, offer members many opportunities to share best practices, exchange knowledge and collaborate. Within its fields IATM has the same aims and methods as those of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which it is affiliated with. The network is open to institutions as well as individuals.

Buchheim Museum
Das Buchheim Museum ist ein Erlebnis, das alle Sinne anspricht. Wer das Museum besucht, erlebt es aus drei Perspektiven: Kunst: Das Museumskonzept von Lothar-Günther Buchheim vereint verschiedene Sammlungen unter einem Dach: Im Zentrum steht die berühmte Expressionistensammlung mit Gemälden, Aquarellen, Zeichnungen und Druckgraphiken. Wechselnde Ausstellungen – auch mit zeitgenössischen Künstlern – ergänzen die Lebendigkeit des Museums. Architektur: Günter Behnisch hat für die Buchheimschen Sammlungen eine mehrgliedrige und abwechslungsreiche Architektur geschaffen, die die außergewöhnliche Vielfalt der Kunstwerke widerspiegelt. Der langgestreckte, zum Teil in den Hang hineingebaute Baukörper endet in einem zwölf Meter über dem See schwebenden Steg. Natur: Das Buchheim Museum liegt nördlich von Bernried im Höhenrieder Park direkt am Ufer des Starnberger Sees. Ein Spaziergang durch den Park ist ein einzigartiger Natur- und Kunstgenuss. Alte Baumgruppen, verwunschene Teiche, Pagoden, Skulpturen und andere Kunstwerke säumen den Weg vom Besucherparkplatz zum Museumsgebäude. Bei schönem Wetter kann man bis zur Alpenkette blicken. Träger des Buchheim Museums ist die Buchheim Stiftung.

Archivio Conz is a Berlin-based research institution committed to the presentation, promotion, and scholarly exploration of Fluxus, Concrete Poetry, and Lettrism. Founded in 2016 to catalogue, conserve, and expand upon the legacy of visionary collector, publisher, and photographer Francesco Conz (1935-2010), we maintain one of the world’s largest Fluxus collections. Our holdings encompass over works by roughly 300 international artists including Nam June Paik, Carolee Schneemann, Allan Kaprow, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Dick Higgins, Alison Knowles, and Charlotte Moorman, as well as more than 500 artist editions commissioned by Conz himself. Archivio Conz is dedicated to making this extraordinary archive accessible to researchers, curators, and the public: much of the collection is now available online, and our ongoing initiatives continue to expand digital and exhibition based access worldwide.

Tam Museum
For over 500 years, Turkey and Germany have shared deep and diverse historical connections—bridging stories and phenomena in art, science, economy, literature, music, and everyday life. Yet, these rich historical traces are often treated as exceptions, complex realities are reduced to a single dominant narrative: the eternal migrants, the guest workers, the ultimate “other.” Beyond these longstanding historical ties, the present reveals a different truth: today, people with a family background from Turkey are no longer just migrants. They are an integral part of German and European society shaping its future. At TAM*, these historically unseen “exception stories” become the rule. We celebrate transculturality as an intrinsic and enriching part of human history—one that has always been there. At TAM Museum, we embrace and cherish the ambiguous. We believe that learning to tolerate and appreciate cultures different from our own is not an act of concession but an opportunity for growth, understanding, and connection. TAM Museum was founded with the help of the many as a gGmbH on April 2nd 2025 in Berlin, a non-profit institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing the untold transcultural narratives. TAM Museum already has a growing archive of oral histories, artifacts, and historical research and is building partnerships with cultural institutions to create a long-term impact. From historical archives to contemporary art, oral history projects to exhibitions, TAM Museum will be a space where past and present meet, where diverse voices are heard, and where new understandings of identity and belonging emerge. The first steps are to launch digital and pop-up exhibitions in Germany. Our long-term goal is to give TAM Museum a physical home in Berlin. TAM Museum is more than just a museum—it’s a movement for cultural memory, dialogue, and representation.*TAM means many things in Turkish: whole, complete, exact, full, proper, just, accurate.

Im Fokus steht die Zeit 1933–1945: Von den Nationalsozialisten verfolgt, flüchtete in diesen Jahren etwa eine halbe Million Menschen ins Ausland. Es waren nicht nur, aber in der Mehrzahl Jüdinnen und Juden. Unzähligen der Verfolgten gelang der Weg ins – hoffentlich rettende – Exil vom zentralen Anhalter Bahnhof in Berlin aus. Immer war es ein Aufbruch ins Ungewisse, der manchmal ein Leben lang von Fremdheit, Angst und Heimweh begleitet wurde. Von den Menschen, denen dieses Schicksal widerfuhr, möchte das Exilmuseum Berlin erzählen – und dabei auch die Brücke zur Gegenwart schlagen: Wie wurden Flucht und Entwurzelung zu zentralen Erfahrungen unserer Zeit? Welche Verbindung besteht zwischen dem Exil damals und heute? Und was können wir aus der Geschichte für das Heute lernen?

The museum, designed in industrial style, offers incredible success stories on almost m² of barrier-free exhibition space. In addition to the collection of mainframe computers, home computers, and gaming consoles, numerous interactive stations and hands-on objects invite you to participate. We combine technology, society, and art in an innovative exhibition concept that was awarded the Saxon Museum Prize in 2017.
