Nyco - North York Concert Orchestra
The North York Concert Orchestra (NYCO) is dedicated to the quality performance of classical music by encouraging participation and development among a large community membership, and appreciation and enrichment for a broad public. NYCO supports a diverse and talented membership of over 60 musicians who perform in the NYCO, the NYCO Chamber Orchestra, and the NYCO Chamber Players. We are complemented by a volunteer production team. Professional string section leaders and Music Director and Conductor, Rafael Luz, provide the guidance, training and inspiration for NYCO to achieve excellence. NYCO offers audiences of all ages exposure to classical music, and musicians of all ages exciting performance opportunities. The NYCO offers an affordable four-concert subscription series at the Yorkminster Citadele, just at the intersection of Yonge and 401. Additionally, NYCO performs to a broad audience through impactful outreach and community programs throughout the city. To further meet our goal of bringing classical music to the community, the NYCO Chamber Orchestra and NYCO Chamber Players perform an education concert series in schools and community centres across Toronto. The NYCO represents the universal value of music, and is a precious, impactful alternative to the culture of professional music in Canada. We believe music is for everyone!

The Toronto Choral Society (TCS) was founded in 1845, to foster a positive musical environment that enables members to learn and develop both musical ability and choral repertoire. The TCS aims to be an integral part of the community of Toronto, presenting important works from the traditional choral repertoire, exploring the music of the many cultures that make up our community, and making an active contribution to the life of the city by participating in community events. Today, the Toronto Choral Society comprises four choirs: the 150-member Toronto Choral Society Community Choir, the TCS Children’s Choir, the North 44º chamber ensemble, and the Street Haven Women’s Choir, whose members are clients of Street Haven at the Crossroads in downtown Toronto.

University Of Toronto Allegro Choir
Allegro Choir is a student-led choir that sings primarily Mandarin and English songs. Music is an important part of any culture: from the past until now, every culture imprints itself through its use of music. From traditional Beijing operas to native Taiwanese folk songs; from English Romanticism and country rock in the States, music is a key form of communication. In a world where society is constantly changing and technology is constantly enabling humans to detract from face-to-face interaction, Allegro Choir serves to bring back this key form of communication. By singing songs reflective of Chinese and other cultures, we hope to cater to members of every community. Since our inception as a student-led club in 2007, we have attained a semi-professional level and have performed in front of many audiences. This school year, on top of our weekly practices, we aim to perform numerous times and conclude the season with our annual year-end concert. The choir provides a great environment for all music enthusiasts who wish to learn something new, make life-long friends, and create memories to be proud of. All U of T students who are interested in learning Chinese and singing are welcome to join! Allegro Choir2007 Christmas concert at Hart House Unionville Presbyterian Church.

Vancouver Cantata Singers is one of Canada’s preeminent choral ensembles. It is known for its technical virtuosity, fine blend and high performance standards encompassing 500 years of choral repertoire. VCS was awarded the Canada Council’s top prize in choral singing, the Healey Willan Grand Prize, in 2009 and 2012.
