H Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης δημιουργήθηκε με απόφαση των Πρυτανικών Αρχών το Φεβρουάριο του Η συγκρότηση αυτή προέκυψε από τη θεώρηση ότι πέρα από τα μαθήματα, τα εργαστήρια, τα σπουδαστήρια, τις κλινικές και τις βιβλιοθήκες, μια πιο άμεση και ζωντανή επικοινωνία των μελών της Πανεπιστημιακής Κοινότητας, τόσο μεταξύ τους όσο και με την κοινωνία της πόλης μας, μπορεί να πραγματοποιηθεί μέσω της μουσικής. Στα είκοσι χρόνια λειτουργίας της, με την υποστήριξη της πρώτης Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής της, αποτελούμενη από τους Δ. Θέμελη, Π. Γεωργιάδη, Χρ. Αντωνόπουλο, Επ. Κριεζή και Γ. Παπανικολάου, και υπό την καθοδήγηση του μαέστρου Δημήτρη Δημόπουλου, έχει παρουσιάσει με μεγάλη επιτυχία έργα συμφωνικής μουσικής τόσο εντός όσο και εκτός του ΑΠΘ, συμμετέχοντας σε ποικίλες εκδηλώσεις και φεστιβάλ στην Ελλάδα (Φλώρινα, Φεστιβάλ Ολύμπου, Cosmopolis Festival) και στο εξωτερικό, ενώ έχει εκδώσει και ένα δίσκο ακτίνα(CD) το 2008 με το Requiem του W. A. Mozart από ζωντανή ηχογράφηση στην Αίθουσα Τελετών του ΑΠΘ. Η ορχήστρα συνεργάζεται σταθερά με τα χορωδιακά σύνολα του Α.Π.Θ (Χορωδία "Γιάννης Μάντακας", Χορωδιακό Εργαστήρι,Χορωδία "Τρισεύγενη Καλοκύρη"), έχει συνεργαστεί με ξένες ορχήστρες (Studphilarmonic Tuebingen), διαπρεπείς σολίστ (Αντώνης Σουσάμογλου) και μαέστρους (Συμεών Ιωαννίδης). Τον Νοέμβριο του 2021 το Τμήμα Μουσικών Σπουδών του ΑΠΘ ανέλαβε την εποπτεία της Ορχήστρας και ανέθεσε την καλλιτεχνική της διεύθυνση στον διευθυντή ορχήστρας και Επίκουρο Καθηγητή Διεύθυνσης Μουσικών Συνόλων του ΤΜΣ Βλαδίμηρο Συμεωνίδη, με σκοπό την αναδιοργάνωση και την επιστροφή της στο μουσικό γίγνεσθαι της πόλης, ύστερα από δύο χρόνια απουσίας λόγω της πανδημίας. Η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα του Α.Π.Θ. υποστηρίζεται οικονομικά από την Εταιρεία Αξιοποίησης και Διαχείρισης της Περιουσίας του Πανεπιστημίου και διαχειριστικά από το Τμήμα Δημοσίων Σχέσεων του ΑΠΘ.

Deadfile

Deadfile is a collective of musicians based on the island of Corfu, Greece, focused on producing original compositions, scores and soundscapes for film, video art & video games and working closely with other artists, in order to reach the highest possible quality in their work. Experimentation and exploration of various music styles, harmonies and sound design elements is one of the main goals of the collective. So far, Deadfile has composed music for the following films: On Hold (2014, George Tsirogiannis)(short) A Still Sunrise (2017, Iakovos Panagopoulos)(short) Flickering Souls Set Alight (2019, Iakovos Panagopoulos)(short) Deadfile won the "Best Original Music Score" award by LACA (Los Angeles Cinematography Awards) in October 2019. As a recording artist / band, Deadfile began in 2009 as a one man project, releasing two albums, Deadfile and Applied Oneironautics, in 2012, as well as The City Over the Void, in 2014, incorporating elements of post-rock, delta blues field recordings and electronic samples. They were formed as a full band with an indeterminate number of members in 2012, drawing upon various influences, including psychedelic rock, chamber music and heavy rock elements. In 2019 they released "The Oddity of Human Structures"(39Label), their first album as a full band focusing on the use of acoustic instruments, blended with samples, as well as elements of religious – ritualistic music, film music and vocals inspired by the blues, gospel and trip hop traditions. The album is a result of the collective effort of over twenty musicians that contributed in its recording.

Modular Expansion

Modular Expansion is one of the first teams which started organizing Techno events in Athens, founded in 1998. In the end of the 90s began to host artists from the labels such as Tresor, Basic Channel and Chain Reaction, presenting the Berlin underground music vibe and making techno popular in the Greek capital. Founder of Modular Expansion known as George Apergis performs already in 2002 at the legendary Tresor in Berlin. Counting in his history more than events and hundreds of guest artists like Adam Beyer, The Advent, Alexander Kowalski, Truncate, Ø [Phase], Psyk, dj Rolando, Monoloc, Drumcell, Brian Sanhaji, Luca Agnelli, Kevin De Vries, Radial, Substance, Vainqueur, Johannes Volk, Pacou, Funk D Void, Dave Tarrida, Sender Berlin and many more belongs in one of the oldest teams in the city of Athens. In 2012 come the label of Modular Expansion Records, with releases and the support of global fame artists which has been the baseline to follow up events abroad and especially in Berlin, with gigs in clubs like Suicide Circus, Berghain, Tresor, Sisyphos and many more. Contradition Ensemble

The vocal ensemble ‘Contradition Ensemble’ was created in March 2015 in Thessaloniki by composer Kostika Çollaku. It is a flexible ensemble that consists of 15 to 20 people. The number of members is determined depending on the requirements of each concert. The goal of the ensemble is to promote a unique repertoire that is not often presented, either because it is not recognised or because it is too difficult. The repertoire includes traditional pieces in their original language and contemporary classical works by major composers. It has held concerts at Alaca Imaret in Thessaloniki (2016 and 2019), at the Armenian Church of Thessaloniki (2016), at Yeni Cami in Thessaloniki (2017), and at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (2017). In April 2017 it presented Alfred Schnittke’s Requiem at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, in cooperation with ‘Percautistic’ ensemble and Alexandros Ioannou. In 2018 it participated in the secret gigs organised by Sofar Sounds, while that same year it presented a concert with pieces from well-known animated films (Disney and Animé) at Alexandros theatre. Besides its concerts, it has also recorded, made videos, and participated in many flash mobs and other non-concert actions.
