Local Ireland
Local Ireland is the voice for the largest grouping of local weekly newspapers of record in the Republic of Ireland. Local newspapers are among the three most important advertising platforms in Ireland and represent the best value for money by which leading brands can reach the population in every town and county across Ireland. The longest serving news medium in Ireland, local press presents a uniquely hyper local news offering to its readers each week. The average household retention period for our weekly titles is 5.9 days; our readers spend twice as long reading them as they do a national daily title; 86% of readers say the community relies on their local newspaper for news about their area.(source; Ipsos MRBI survey October 2012). Local Ireland is the promotional brand of the Regional Newspapers and Printers Association of Ireland (RNPAI), formerly the Provincial Newspaper Association, founded in 1919, and the oldest newspaper association in Ireland.
