Our products are made from the leaves of the betel nut palm, a natural raw material that is generated as agricultural waste in India. Since we do not use any synthetic additives during the manufacturing process, our packaging is pollutant-free and completely compostable at the end of its lifespan. The material is inherently liquid-resistant for several hours without any additional coating, oven-proof and microwaveable as well as cool and freezer safe. The areca palm has been grown for its fruits for centuries. The palm trees are neither grubbed for our production, nor do land areas have to be cleared for new plantations. Sustainable, social and ethical management along the entire value chain is very important to us. Our sustainability approach therefore also includes fair production and trading conditions in India. We work with local manufacturers near the palm plantations. Through our production in rural areas we support the small manufacturers and local labour women who earn a living and strengthen their independence.

Es ist ganz simpel: Verpackungen schützen Produkte. Damit diese Verpackungen passend, also qualitativ hochwertig, richtig dimensioniert und ökonomisch sinnvoll sind, gibt es das BFSV. Wir sind ein langjährig etabliertes Hamburger Verpackungsinstitut und haben unseren Sitz in Bergedorf, auf dem Campus der HAW Hamburg. Unsere Aufgaben konzentrieren sich auf das Prüfen, das Forschen und die Lehre. In unserem Forschungslabor finden zahlreiche Testungen an großen und kleinen Prüfmustern unserer Kunden statt: Fallen, Stauchen, Tests zum Sicherstellen, dass die Sterilbarriere an Medizinprodukten intakt ist. Selbstverständlich geben wir auch den ein oder anderen Verbesserungshinweis und unterstützen bei der Auswahl der korrekten Primär- und Sekundärverpackung. Unsere Forschung bringt immer wieder Interessantes zu Tage (Was passiert mit einem Ei, das vom Hochhaus fällt!). Besonders stolz sind wir darauf, dass wir Studierende der HAW bei deren spannenden Abschlussprojekten praxisnah zur Seite stehen. Das Beste daran: Sie lernen von uns und wir lernen von ihnen. Abschließend geben wir unser Wissen und Können gerne weiter: unsere Seminare richten sich an Menschen aus der Praxis. Diejenigen, die im engsten oder weitesten Sinne mit Verpackungen zu tun haben: z.B. Hersteller von Wellpappe, Mitarbeitende aus dem Marketing einer Spedition, LKW-Fahrer. Copacking is a full service design, manufacturing and fulfilment packaging company based in Berlin. We were recognized in 2010 as Northern Germany’s start up of year for relocating and investing into programs with local authorities to generate long term jobs in our area. Copacking operates all its machinery and plant needs via power produced solely from its own state of the art solar system which we have installed and covers the entire facility roof area of feet. Over 400 panels generate the power we need for all our plant electrical needs and we generate enough annually to puts some extra back into the local grid as well. So we environmentally and efficiently control our power needs and ultimately pass on savings in overall operating costs to our customers as a result. We believe every little bit helps us and our customers, and are committed to finding different ways to achieving this in as many of our processes as possible. Its a green investment we felt we had a duty to install given our power usage in our ever continuing efforts to reduce our plant’s use of energy via other standard and less environmentally friendly and responsible methods. We power ourselves, and are proud of it. Waste does not have to be wasted All materials, be they paper, board, PET, plastics or glass are sorted and then recycled and generate income from the firms that we have set up to collect from us that we again can pass back to our clients via lower operating costs.
