Sydney Eisteddfod
Sydney Eisteddfod has been contributing to the evolving culture of the Australian nation by nurturing the performing arts at a grass roots level in an annual festival of music, song, dance and drama since 1933. Over the last eight decades an estimated two and a quarter million performers have tested their skills on its stages. The annual Festival runs from May to September and is now widely regarded as one of the largest and most successful competitive festival of its type in the world. Each year the festival attracts some participants who perform to over people in a program of around 400 classical and contemporary events for singers, dancers, actors, musicians, composers, bands, choirs and orchestras in fifteen or more venues across the Sydney area. This annual event provides live performance opportunities for aspiring artists in front of expert adjudicators. Sydney Eisteddfod also serves as a reference point for public enquiries about other competitions and opportunities. It maintains close ties with other arts organisations and is constantly on the look out for performance opportunities for developing artists. Sydney Eisteddfod is an independent, community-based, non-profit organisation limited by guarantee. It is also a registered charity in New South Wales and is listed on the federal Register of Cultural Organisations eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.

The Blue Room Theatre
The Blue Room Theatre (TBRT) is a member-based not-for-profit and the creative hub for WA’s independent theatre for over 36 years, located in the Perth Cultural Centre. We enable new Australian performance by providing artists with a venue, resources, learning and support to create and present original work. TBRT has launched the careers of Matthew Lutton, Kate Mulvany, Tim Minchin, Claire Hooper, The Last Great Hunt and many more. We champion new talent and fresh work year-round, showcasing and developing the most exciting independent contemporary performance from Western Australia and beyond. West Australian Ballet
In 1952, West Australian Ballet was established by Madame Kira Bousloff – the first professional ballet company formed in Australia that is still in existence today. Since its formation West Australian Ballet has developed an impressive reputation for superior classical and contemporary ballet, and contemporary dance of the highest level. Its repertoire continues to develop steadily; classical ballet forming the foundation, combined with a distinct contemporary outlook on the art form. West Australian Ballet stages everything from full length classical ballets, narrative ballets and shorter works, and encompasses a variety of choreographic styles. The Company is based in Perth and resides at the West Australian Ballet Centre in Maylands. At present the Company consists of 41 full-time dancers. West Australian Ballet offers an extensive program of dance throughout the year, with five major seasons in Perth, one at The Quarry Amphitheatre in City Beach, three at His Majesty’s Theatre, and one at the State Theatre Centre of WA. West Australian Ballet also offers choreographic workshops, adult dance classes, an extensive education program and regularly tours nationally and regionally throughout Western Australia. West Australian Ballet is the only dance company in the state that has an official partnership with its state symphony orchestra; the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

Word Travels
Word Travels is a not-for-profit arts organisation. We organise literary and literacy programs for festivals, private companies, libraries, schools and cultural institutions around the Asia Pacific with a focus on developing performing writers. You can find us in theatres, schools, board rooms, health institutions, night clubs, prisons, regional towns, abandoned restaurants and libraries. We believe that spoken-word artists, poets, hip-hop artists, story-tellers and monologists can develop an industry equal to that of actors, musicians and writers. Our main objective is to inspire people to tell their stories in creative ways, primarily through live performance. The major programs we run each year are: Story Week - Our spoken word festival packed full of live literary mayhem in the form of spoken-word, poetry, stories, lyrics and monologues. Featuring panels, workshops and the Australian Poetry Slam National Final. Australian Poetry Slam - Our live literary performance competition where the audience is the judge. With a nationwide round of 50 heats, the best slammers will compete to win the National Poetry Slam Final, which is held annually at the Sydney Opera House. Australian Poetry Slam Youth - The largest youth poetry slam in Sydney. Held annually, this event encourages 12-18 year olds to share their stories and raise their voices. Multilingual Poetry Slam - A poetry event that celebrates diversity of language as artists are invited to express themselves and their culture in their own words.

Monkey Baa Theatre Company
Monkey Baa is Australia’s widest-reaching theatre company for young people. For over two decades, we have empowered young people through theatre. We care deeply about connecting young people with meaningful art and this is evidenced by the fact that we tour to many communities that better-resourced theatre companies do not. In 22 years, we have conducted 28 national tours to 135 regional and remote communities across every state and territory of Australia, four international tours, with over 2,500 performances, engaging with 1.5 million young people. For 7 years, our Sydney venue has showcased the best theatre for young people from companies around Australia and overseas. Our Vision To make theatre an intrinsic part of young people’s lives. Young audiences desire and deserve the same dexterity, depth and rigour in that theatre experience, as is demanded by adult audiences. Monkey Baa’s artistry lies in our collaborative practice. Our award-winning productions which tour regionally, nationally and internationally, emerge from a confluence of exciting artists in a playful creative development space. Crucial to our practice is the collaboration with young people aged 7-12 from the earliest stages of the development.
