Calgary Pro Musica Society
Calgary Pro Musica is a non-profit, registered charitable organization that encourages and celebrates chamber music. Our concerts feature world-renowned chamber ensembles performing in the beautiful Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall in the University of Calgary’s Rozsa Centre. We contribute to our community through meaningful music outreach and learning programs. Calgary Pro Musica has been providing exceptional value to audiences and enriching Calgary’s cultural life for over 40 years. With the generous support of the Calgary Arts Development Authority, University of Calgary, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Canadian Heritage, corporate and individual sponsors, as well as charitable donations from our season subscribers, Calgary Pro Musica engages our community in many ways beyond our celebrated concerts. Our Young Artists Development Program discovers, nurtures and promotes young Calgary musicians and many of our alumni are enjoying successful music careers of their own. Our annual Family Concerts have met with critical acclaim and the Talmon Hertz Legacy series of performance classes has given hundreds of Alberta’s promising young artists the opportunity to perform for our visiting artists.

This unique troupe accepts up to 25 members a year for the performance experience of a life time. Our young team performs for many wonderful charities including Mount Sinai, Sick Kids and POGO. We are committed to sharing our talents with charitable groups big and small and can be found performing at large galas and intimate performances at shelters to bring a smile to those in need. As a member of the BBK Showstoppers performance team you will have the opportunity to share ideas and learn about the many ways you can use your talents to help the community. We often have guest speakers to teach us about their important causes and team members are provided with many ways to give back, be it simply cheering on a group of runner, fund raising as a team or using your own personal blog and social network to tell other youth what you are doing and how to get involved. The BBK Showstoppers have also performed at local schools and participated in Q&A discussions about what they have learned on our team. We are very proud to offer a unique performance experience where young dancers are taught both dance technique and the skills needed to be future leaders.

The Arts Impact Partnership Taip
The Arts Impact Partnership (TAIP) is a long-awaited response to a common frustration in the arts: the idea that our impact can only be measured by numbers such as ticket sales, audience size, or jobs created. We know that the arts have powerful civic, cultural, and emotional impacts that can’t always be captured by economic data or quantitative metrics. TAIP is about redefining how we describe and measure those impacts in ways that are meaningful, inclusive, and fair. By connecting Canada’s arts community with researchers from around the world, we’re co-creating new, community-led ways to understand and share the true value of the arts. Especially from the perspectives of artists and communities who have too often been overlooked by traditional data systems. TAIP based at The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University and led in partnership with Mass Culture. Together, we are building a national network of 70+ researchers, 25+ Canadian partner organizations, and several international collaborators. TAIP is supported in part by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Bazar Production
