Selangor Symphony Orchestra
Founded in 2015, the Selangor Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is a professional orchestra in Selangor, Malaysia. The orchestra serves as a platform for Malaysia’s accomplished professional classical musicians, showcasing the accumulated growth of the Malaysian classical music scene. SSO gathers the most accomplished Malaysian musicians, forming the majority of around 60 musicians, to partake in its music-making, with the aim of giving back to the community that helped the musicians flourish. The SSO also governs the Selangor Symphony Youth Orchestra (SSYO), where it identifies and nurtures the younger generation. Also check out SSO's Outreach and Community Division - whilst our primary focus is musical performance, our desire is also to provide diverse orchestral experiences that build and support the appreciation of music for the community and underprivileged children. The SSO is registered as a non-profit organization under Malaysia's Registrar of Societies (ROS). If you are a music or orchestra lover or philanthropist who would like to support this non-profit organization, we will be grateful to have your support. The founder of the SSO is Eugene Pook, who is also the Music Director and Conductor.

The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre
klpac was established in 2005 as Malaysia's only fully-integrated arts center with end-to-end facilities dedicated to the advancement of the performing arts in Malaysia. The Centre’s 7,614 sq metres of space nestled in a lush 35-acre park just a stone's throw from KL City Centre houses facilities which include a 504-seater proscenium theatre, a 200-seater experimental black box theatre, a 100-seater indicine for indie film screenings and smaller shows, an Academy with 9 studios, a set construction workshop as well as a café and a bar. Its building is over 100 years old. Starting as a wood-crafting workshop and sawmill, it then became part of the iconic Sentul Parks, one of the region's most important railway depot and workshop. It was converted into a make-shift golf clubhouse in the late 1960s and was in use until the early 1990s. The Centre's design will please conservationists as the external facade of the former train depot built was preserved. A modern four-story glass and steel structure has been incorporated into the old structure to create a perfect marriage of old and new. Every year, it welcomes - visitors to its Centre. Besides renting out its venue to arts groups and corporates, it also presents a full program throughout the year ranging from concerts and plays to dance productions and film screenings. Besides that, its Academy also runs arts-related courses as well as conducts outreach for the underprivileged. klpac is committed to developing local talent and content. Many of its programmes and platforms are geared towards providing opportunities to young talents as well as driving new content creation. It houses three community orchestras - klpac Orchestra, klpac String Orchestra, and klpac Symphonic Band as well as an artist residency program with five full-time individuals. It also runs an annual Theatre for Young People (T4YP) program.
