Th R Abts
Thereabouts Theatre grounds itself in the form of “site-specific x dance-theatre” and was founded in September 2017 by Elizabeth Kow and Sabriena Loh, who write, co-direct and choreograph original work. Together, the work achieved must reflect 1) creative liberty and must be inclusive of each individual performer’s original input/ideas, 2) authenticity and accuracy through research and thorough inquiry; this applies across the entire body of work, be it in regards to the history of a chosen site or the revisitation and telling of a moment/memory 3) and a sense of growth; we aim to encourage fellow performers and their audience to constantly grow and sharpen one’s awareness of the social, emotional and political self through our chosen form. • Okay. But what is site-specific theatre? Site-specific is a process of choosing a site whether outdoors or indoors, and responding to the historicity and physical elements of both natural and man-made environments. This is driven by the curiosity of the possibilities of a site being the focal point of a performance, which challenges our perceived reality. • And what about dance theatre? Dance theatre, on the other hand, is a form that amalgamates dance practice and theatrical methods of stage performance, which deviates from traditional beliefs of how dance and theatre are performed. • Why combine the two? We are intrigued by how this form accommodates phenomena of the immediacy of feeling through non-linear storytelling. Through it, we are constantly challenged to negotiate these creative and psychological perimeters in greater depth and detail.

Annette Lee Music
Annette Lee, who is also known as “Sue Ann” from SGAG, is a singer-songwriter who writes about the human condition, and finds honesty and hope in her reveries. Inspired by both acoustic and electronic sounds, she has released her debut 5-song EP,"All Our Achilles Heels" in September 2017, produced by Scott Cash and Ed Cash. Apart from making music, Annette is also a filmmaker, and is the lead writer and director (and sometimes actor) at media page SGAG- Album summary: Why didn't Achilles' mother just dip him again into the water holding the other heel? The story of Achilles goes that when he was a baby, his mother dipped him in the River Styx, which offered powers of invulnerability. However, as she held Achilles by the heel, his heel was not washed over by the water of the magical river. So why didn't she just dip him again? Perhaps she simply forgot? Or perhaps Homer (the author of the Achilles story) understood that Achilles needed a weakness in order for his readers to identify with Achilles. Whichever the case, its undeniable that weakness is what defines us as human. And just when we think we're perfect, we're then undone by others' mistakes- I feel that in this world that celebrates strength, we're starting to lose our ability to deal with inevitable weaknesses. And that is why i hope you'll love this album as much as i have. P.S. It's also possible Achilles mother didn't wash him again because double dipping is socially frowned upon hahaha
