Welkom bij het Expertisecentrum Budget en Financieel Welzijn van Thomas More. We streven naar een samenleving die zo georganiseerd is dat alle burgers erbij horen en eraan kunnen bijdragen, nu en in de toekomst. Daarvoor zetten we in op het realiseren van een menswaardig inkomen, het doeltreffender maken van hulpverlening en het financieel redzaam maken van burgers. Hiertoe leveren we wetenschappelijk onderzoek, organiseren we vormingen en ontwikkelen we werkzame instrumenten, methodieken en indicatoren. Om dat te bereiken, werkt ons team nauw samen met burgers, hulpverleners, beleidsmakers en collega-onderzoekers. Meat Technology And Science Of Protein-Rich Foods Mtsp
The research activities of the research group for Meat Technology & Science of Protein-rich Foods are focused on meat and other protein-rich foods. The research group therefore has a well-developed pilot facility and laboratory in which various groups of protein-rich food products can be prepared and analyzed under strictly controlled conditions. The Research Group carries out funded scientific research in numerous projects, often in collaboration with other research institutions and industrial partners from the meat industry, producers and suppliers of functional ingredients for the meat industry, and in the food industry in general. In addition, the Research Group is at the service of companies that have questions related to production and quality of protein-rich food products. The group has specific and extensive expertise in ingredients affecting texture and physical stability of meat products (such as proteins, hydrocolloids, gums, fibres, etc.).

Pxl-Research
PXL-Research bundelt het onderzoek en de dienstverlening van Hogeschool PXL. PXL-Research richt zich op het oplossen van uitdagingen en problemen die voortkomen uit de dagelijkse beroepspraktijk. Deze praktijkproblemen worden omgezet in onderzoeksvragen, casussen en projecten. De onderzoekers van PXL-Research en studenten van Hogeschool PXL gaan hiermee aan de slag om samen met bedrijven en organisaties te zoeken naar wetenschappelijk onderbouwde, praktijkgerichte oplossingen. PXL-Research fungeert dus als centraal aanspreekpunt voor ondernemers, bedrijven en organisaties in de regio en daarbuiten. Het is een brug tussen de hogeschool en de bedrijfswereld, waarbij onderzoek wordt ingezet om reële problemen op te lossen en innovaties te stimuleren.

Research Center Care In Connection
The Care in Connection Research Center is one of six research centers at Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Antwerp. It hosts lecturers and a multidisciplinary research team specializing in chronic care, sustainable careers, integrated care, perinatal care and health promotion. The center excels in practice-oriented, scientific research aimed at supporting and improving the position of healthcare professionals and the quality of care. Examples of specific projects include a smart diabetes assistant, guidance for healthcare workers dealing with pregnancy loss, prevention of sexual boundary violations, mental wellbeing among youth in vulnerable neighborhoods, grief support for caregivers, and retaining healthcare staff long-term. To maximize practical and societal impact, the research center highly values close collaboration and cocreation with professionals and policymakers in the field, as well as with individuals in need of care or support and their environment. Thanks to this approach, research results are valorized into usable practice tools and valuable services. These tools, such as train-the-trainer packages, communication materials and learning modules, ensure that the research center’s solutions are immediately applicable in the workplace. The services include consultancy for project implementation, the development of sustainable, tailor-made implementation trajectories, and the establishment of ecosystems and academic workplaces. European Association For Practitioner Research On Improving Learning Eapril
EAPRIL stands for European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (in education and professional practice). It is a non-profit organisation under Belgian law, governed by an Executive Board in cooperation with the EAPRIL office. The association promotes practice-based research on learning issues in the context of initial, formal, lifelong and organisational learning with the aim to enhance practice. EAPRIL encompasses different contexts (such as schools of various educational levels as well as organisations and corporations across fields, such as engineering, medicine, nursing, business, and teacher education), at different levels (individuals, teams, organisations and networks), and in different stages of life (from kindergarten over students in higher education to workers at the workplace). As a result, EAPRIL is unique in bringing together not only those interested in the crossroads between research & practice but also between education & professional learning. EAPRIL offers two parallel and closely related sub networks that focus on learning in two specific contexts, i.e. Education and Learning in Schools, both of students and teachers and this at various educational levels (kindergarten, primary, secondary, vocational, higher education.), and Learning & Development in Corporate Organisations.
