At the University of Liège, RISE is in charge of managing university research and the transfer of knowledge from research units, notably through the administrative set-up and implementation of projects, the detection of research results that can be valorized, their protection and support for their maturation and commercialization. It contributes to the development of research by assisting the authorities in the definition, implementation and evaluation of strategic research and innovation policy and by supporting researchers in their research mission, notably with regard to its financing, training or mobility aspects. In order to encourage business-research collaborations, it also seeks to create a dynamic of exchanges between researchers and socio-economic actors to enable them to make contact with potential partners, to promote their needs as well as their skills and equipment, and to generate ideas for research projects.

Centre De Recherche De Bruxelles Sur Les Inégalités Sociales - Crebis

A Bruxelles, plus d'une personne sur trois vit la pauvreté. Depuis 30 ans, ce taux ne fait qu'augmenter. Les inégalités se multiplient, se diversifient et leur compréhension devient de plus en plus complexe. Sur le terrain, des centaines de services luttent quotidiennement contre les inégalités. La recherche, de son côté, tente d'en éclairer les mécanismes. Pour que ces deux mondes se rencontrent, nous avons créé le Crebis, le Centre de recherche de Bruxelles sur les inégalités sociales. Au Crebis, nous développons une recherche collaborative et engagée, au profit de l'ensemble des acteurs (professionnels, personnes concernées, chercheurs) qui souhaitent travailler des questions en lien avec les inégalités sociales.

In de faculteit Industriële Ingenieurswetenschappen leveren we academische professionals af die klaar zijn voor functies in de bedrijven van morgen! Industrieel ingenieurs kunnen problemen in kaart brengen en analyseren, en geven daarbij blijk van een gestructureerde en creatieve aanpak. Zij vertalen onderzoeksresultaten naar nieuwe toepassingen. Industrieel ingenieurs vind je dan ook in een waaier van functies en in tal van bedrijfssectoren, als zelfstandige ondernemer, als docent in het onderwijs, bij de overheid. Het onderzoek op onze campus richt zich op vragen uit bedrijven en organisaties. Daarmee bouwen onze onderzoeksgroepen mee aan de brug tussen het fundamenteel onderzoek en de effectieve realisatie van onderzoeksresultaten in de praktijk. Om concurrentieel te blijven moeten kleine en grote ondernemingen in Vlaanderen inzetten op innovatie. Daarvoor is toegepast onderzoek dat focust op de praktische realisatie in een bedrijf of organisatie belangrijk. De onderzoekscapaciteit is gebundeld in sterk toepassingsgerichte onderzoeksspeerpunten, in samenwerking met de onderzoeksgroepen Bouwkunde (CERG), Engineering Materials and Applications (EMAP), Materialen en Verpakking Onderzoek en dienstverlening (MPR & S), Nucleaire Technologie (NuTeC).

Académie Royale Des Sciences D'outre-Mer - Koninklijke Academie Voor Overzeese Wetenschappen

The Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences (RAOS) is an independent, multidisciplinary, national and international forum supporting science in overseas countries. It is a meeting place and a space for debate between scientists from North and South. It contributes to the promotion of research and the dissemination of knowledge concerning overseas countries both in these countries and in Belgium. Finally, RAOS contributes to the promotion of Belgian scientific research. In 1959 the Academy received its name and current functions, since which date it has continuously adjusted its sphere of activities to the changes — and at times the upheavals — undergone by countries overseas. For several decades the activities of the Academy concentrated essentially on Africa, to which it has remained traditionally attached. Nevertheless, over recent years it has diversified its focus of attention and the Academy has gained a more international character by forging bonds with a wide range of scientific organisations, as witnessed by the co-operation agreements signed with different other academies and institutions.

Following the adoption by the Walloon Government of the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3), 5 Strategic Innovation Areas were selected, from which DIS 4 called Energy and Habitats. Inside DIS 4, 4 Strategic Innovation Initiatives were supported as IIS CETWA about Renewable energy communities. The IIS CETWA is a network of Walloon stakeholders in the field of energy communities and energetic technologies. The members of IIS CETWA are companies, research centers, universities, associations and others active in the field of energy communities. These thematic cover conversion systems, storage and distribution of energy, integration and management of energy systems, carbon capture and storage, economical and reglementary aspects. The main objectives of IIS CETWA are- To create a dynamic of collaboration and innovation between its members by informing them of projects calls and by helping them in finding partnerships and/or building the project- To create and facilitate the sharing of research infrastructures- To develop a valorization strategy of R&D&I projects results- To increase the presence of Walloon stakeholders at International.

MACRAMÉ – Advanced Characterisation Methodologies to assess and predict the Health and Environmental Risks of Advanced Materials MACRAMÉ’s Central Objective is to: • detect, characterise and quantify AdMas during handling and processing along the product life-cycle, • assess potential impacts on (human) health and the environment in intended or unintended exposure situations (i.e. ‘Exposure Points’) in the product value-chain, • advance the wide-spread applicability of the developed test and characterisation methods, by demonstrating their effectiveness and efficiency in the context of existing, market-relevant industrial AdMas containing products, and • prepare and initiate standardisation, harmonisation and technological & regulatory validation of test- and characterisation-methods.

Forest Is Life Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, Uliège

Forest is life aims to study forest ecosystems and, more generally, landscape structures with a low degree of anthropisation, whether in temperate or tropical regions. The research carried out by Forest is life is structured according to 4 components : 1. The characterization and monitoring of flora and fauna; 2. The dynamics of forest ecosystems; 3. The management and development of forest socio-ecosystems; 4. The development of woody natural resources and non-timber forest products. To carry out this work, Forest is life relies in particular on "observatory" forests (long-term observation and measurement networks on important geographical areas) and "laboratory" forests (more modest surface sites where researchers can interact with the management methods and value chains of products derived from these ecosystems). Forest is life hosts the very high resolution remote sensing platform that brings together equipment and expertise dedicated to the acquisition, processing and analysis of fine Earth observation data for monitoring natural areas and agroecosystems.

La Boîte Noire

Une équipe d'intervenants qui proposent à des organisations de comprendre et d'analyser des situations auxquelles elles sont confrontées afin de mieux les piloter, d'agir plus efficacement, de les transformer. La Boîte Noire peut intervenir de manière brève sur des situations jugées urgentes et peut accompagner des organisations dans une démarche de recherche-action sur des processus plus longs. Il s'agit d'analyser collectivement une ou des situations-problèmes en vue de les dépasser. Nous rassemblerons et nous organiserons les savoirs des personnes concernées, et ouvrirons les questions de recherche et les points de tensions éventuels. Nos interventions visent à remettre du mouvement dans l'organisation. Nous intervenons en équipe sur l’ensemble de l’espace francophone (France, Belgique, Suisse, Luxembourg). Une première rencontre entre une ou deux personnes de l'organisation et notre équipe nous permet de définir un dispositif approprié à la situation. Nos dispositifs prennent souvent la forme d'une assemblée des personnes concernées sur quelques jours. D'autres modalités peuvent être mobilisées, comme un travail par entretien individuel ou des rencontres avec plusieurs sous-groupes. Nous intervenons - pour conduire une transformation : ré-organisation du travail, changement de modèle économique, reprise ou transmission d’entreprise- pour comprendre un phénomène : turn-over important, crise de croissance, choix de gestion ou de conduite de la structure, perte de sens… - pour dépasser un événement critique : accidents de travail, maladies professionnelles, départ de fondateurs ou de personnes clés, démission, harcèlement, violence, décès. Beëindiging Terra Nostra België Aankondiging van wijzigingen bij Terra Nostra België. Beste relatie, Met dit bericht willen wij u informeren over een belangrijke wijziging in de bedrijfsvoering van Terra Nostra België. Na een zorgvuldige overweging en in goed onderling overleg hebben wij, samen met Bruno Lambrechts, zaakvoerder van Terra Nostra België, besloten onze activiteiten in België te beëindigen. Uit een gezamenlijke evaluatie van onze doelen, hebben wij moeten constateren dat Terra Nostra België, drie jaar na opstart, niet heeft gebracht wat wij hadden gehoopt. Bruno Lambrechts zal zich weer gaan toeleggen op zijn bedrijf Boomverzorging Bruno. Daarmee zal Terra Nostra Nederland haar activiteiten in België beëindigen. Lopende opdrachten worden door Terra Nostra België afgehandeld, alsook uitstaande offertes die worden gegund. Echter, nieuwe offertes en opdrachten worden niet meer worden aangenomen vanuit Terra Nostra België, maar indien gewenst vanuit Terra Nostra Nederland. Terra Nostra blijft innovatieve oplossingen, zoals het verzamelen van boomdata met behulp van LiDAR en AI, in samenwerking met technologiebedrijf greehill, vanuit Nederland aanbieden voor de Belgische markt. Wij willen vanaf deze plaats onze oprechte dank uitspreken voor uw vertrouwen in Terra Nostra de afgelopen jaren. En Bruno bedanken voor zijn grote inzet en bijdrage aan Terra Nostra België. The Centre de Recherche sur l'Expérience de Guerre (CREG) examines war phenomena through the prism of experience. It studies the experience of war, the making of its narratives, its political and social uses, and the responses provided to it. The CREG is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach, bringing together historians, philosophers, political scientists, psychologists, lawyers, economists, media specialists, and researchers in literature and the arts. The CREG's research is structured around three main themes. The first theme addresses the construction of war representations and the war experience. The second theme focuses on the transmission and reappropriation of these narratives by the actors involved. The third theme explores the legal, political, and social effects and uses of the war experience, placing particular emphasis on processes of legitimation and critique.
