O SOHMA se dedica ao desenvolvimento de projetos de pesquisa voltados ao monitoramento dos impactos dos sistemas agrícolas e práticas de manejo na qualidade e saúde do solo. Realizamos avaliações integradas dos componentes e processos químicos, físicos e biológicos do solo, assim como suas interações com o crescimento das plantas. Nossa pesquisa também enfatiza o papel dos estoques de carbono no solo para a manutenção da saúde do solo e a mitigação das mudanças climáticas. Buscamos entender como diferentes práticas agrícolas influenciam o sequestro de carbono no solo e sua saúde de modo integrado. Adicionalmente, estamos envolvidos em projetos de maior abrangência com o objetivo de desenvolver e aplicar metodologias para quantificar os impactos dos sistemas de produção agrícola na provisão de serviços ecossistêmicos relacionados ao solo, incluindo o armazenamento de carbono e a sustentabilidade ambiental. We assess soil’s chemical, physical, and biological properties and their effects on plant growth. We also study soil carbon stocks to enhance soil health and address climate change. Our broader projects develop methodologies to quantify the impact of agricultural practices on soil ecosystem services, including carbon storage and environmental sustainability. C4ai - Center For A.I. Usp Fapesp Brazil
The Center for Artificial Intelligence (C4AI) of the University of São Paulo, sponsored by IBM (from 2020 to 2025) and FAPESP, is committed to state-of-art research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), exploring both foundational issues and applied research. The C4AI also supports studies on the social and economic impact of AI and carries activities aimed at technology transfer and knowledge diffusion, looking for ways to improve human well- being and to increase diversity and inclusion. The C4AI was established in 2020 through a large grant by IBM and FAPESP. The host institution is the Universidade de São Paulo, operating with partnering institutions ITA, PUC-SP and FEI. The Universidade de São Paulo matches the funding by supporting personnel and providing space for the C4AI activities. The C4AI is headquartered at InovaUSP, a space for multidisciplinary research and innovation at the heart of the Butantã campus of the Universidade de São Paulo. A second facility is located at the ICMC-USP in São Carlos. The C4AI is a member of IBM’s AI Horizons Network (AIHN), created in 2016 to promote collaboration amongst leading universities around the world to accelerate the research and applications of AI. The C4AI is part of the Engineering Research Centers Program of FAPESP where long-term funding is directed to key broad themes.

Centro de Tecnologia em Dutos - CTDUT Centro de desenvolvimento tecnológico dedicado à área de dutos e terminais, o CTDUT foi inaugurado em 2006, a partir de uma parceria entre Petrobras, Transpetro e PUC-Rio, como um laboratório compartilhado para uso da comunidade dutoviária. É uma Associação de direito privado, sem fins lucrativos ou econômicos aberta à utilização por qualquer Empresa ou Instituição. Contando com recursos do Fundo Setorial de Petróleo e Gás (CTPetro), vinculado ao Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia (MCT), através da Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (FINEP) e da Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (ANP), o Centro tem, entre seus associados, empresas, universidades, instituições de ensino e pesquisa e organizações representativas da indústria. As a shared research center dedicated to pipelines and applicable components, CTDUT offers full scale facilities and research laboratories designed to test products, equipments and systems for the pipeline industry. This infrastructure offers technical and financial advantages, saving suppliers and operators resources and testing new technologies with no impact to their actual operations. CTDUT is available to any company or institution under a shared facility model. Products and services offered include PIG testing and evaluation, pipe integrity tests (burst tests), flow meters and leakage detectors, claddings, coatings and linings, as well as pumps and valves, making the Center the perfect place for demonstrations, as well as training and capacity-building courses. Inaugurated in May 2006 as a private not-for-profit association, CTDUT arose from an initiative undertaken by PETROBRAS, TRANSPETRO and the Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). The laboratory's objective is to carry out studies and projects related to the production, transportation, storage, and use of energy, emphasizing technologies that make use of primary renewable resources and energy vectors that can be obtained from the respective resources and also from the technologies that present energy efficiency gains, possibilities of cogeneration, with low emissions. The research group operates in the fields of technological development and innovation in power electronics and brings together the experience of teacher-researchers in the use of energy produced by different alternative resources, such as solar, wind, fuel cells, and tides. The group's commitment is to meet the demands of Brazilian and international societies in industry, government, communities, and education sectors. The research is aimed at developing, analyzing, and improvement of power electronics converters for the integration of alternative energy resources with the electrical network, as well as controlling and monitoring the impact of those devices in electrical power systems. LAFAE also operates in the area of distributed generation, encompassing concepts of smart grids, microgrids, storage, and vehicle electrification, for both land and marine. In addition, it participates in research and development projects in harnessing ocean energy and offshore applications such as offshore wind systems, multiterminal direct current electrical networks, and their impact on the National Interconnected System. The experience in power electronics enables the group to develop static power converters for different applications, within the focus of technological innovation.

LARC - Laboratory of Computer Networks and Architecture is a laboratory inside the Computing and Digital Systems Department of Escola Politecnica (School of Engineering) from Universidade de Sao Paulo (PCS-EPUSP). LARC's technical staff is responsible for academic activities (undergraduate and graduate courses), researches and projects in the fields of Computer Networks and Architecture. Nowadays, over 50 professionals work at LARC, divided into Ph.D, M.Sc and Engineers. These professionals have large academic, professional and scientific experience and conduct relevant, state-of-art projects in their fields.

The Laboratory of Micro Hydrodynamics and Flow in Porous Media is focused on fundamental and applied research on free surface flows of complex liquids in microscale. This class of flow occurs in many situations such as thin films, fluid displacement in porous materials and two-phase flows in microfluidics devices. The industrial applications are innumerous, and our current research projects are focused coating processes used in the manufacturing of functional films, displays, batteries and photovoltaic panels; microencapsulation for controlled chemical delivery; emulsion and dispersion stability and enhanced oil recovery. The activities have been developed with collaboration and financial support from different industries in Brazil (Petrobras, 3M, Repsol-Sinopec, Chevron, Equinor, Shell), USA (3M, HP, Dow Chemicals) and Asia (Fuji Photo Film, Nippon Steel, Samsung); and from Brazilian government research funding agencies. The Laboratory is equipped with state of the art instruments for rock characterization (permeameter, porosimeter, capillary pressure measurement), core flooding tests (four units for liquid and gas injection in rocks), complex fluids and interfaces characterization (rheometers, tensiometers, particle size analyzer, gas chromatograph), micro scale visualization (microscopes, microPIV system, confocal microscope, high speed cameras), microfluidics (microscopes, syringe pumps, microdevices) and numerical simulations (computers). This infrastructure is used in the R&D projects with partner companies, graduate student thesis and providing specialized fluid characterization service for industry, such as rheological measurements, particle size distribution in complex dispersions and interfacial properties. Welcome to Subsea Technology Laboratory (LTS - Laboratório de Tecnologia Submarina)! We are part of the Ocean Engineering Program - PEnO which is one of the thirteen programs of the Coordination of Graduate Engineering Projects - COPPE located at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. COPPE / UFRJ is one of the research institutions accredited by the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum (ANP) according to Investment Clauses in Research, Development and Technological Innovation (ANP Resolution No. 50/2015, Technical Regulation ANP No. 3/2015) and the Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company (EMBRAPII). In almost 30 years of activities, the LTS has already completed twenty-two undergraduate projects, sixty-five master's dissertations and fifteen doctoral theses. He has published more than one hundred articles and works in national and international congresses and magazines and has developed around two hundred and seventy technical consulting reports. It has also been conducting R&D projects eligible to ANP levy. Precision Engineering Laboratory - Lmp Emc Ufsc
The Precision Engineering Laboratory – LMP – is one of the most nationally and internationally renowned laboratory at Mechanical Engineering Department of Federal University of Santa Catarina. LMP was established in 1990 due to the need of Mechanical Engineering course structure modernization, making good use of the knowledge and experience from the old Machine-tool Laboratory – USIMAQ. The Precision Engineering Laboratory develops technological researches in conventional machining with defined and non-defined geometry tools, also aiming at precision and ultraprecision machining, emphasizing turning, drilling, reaming, milling, grinding, lapping, burnishing, electroerosion, flow drilling, conformation threading and others. LMP also develops researches in ultraprecision projects and machine-tool building scopes, mainly in microdisplacement and linear and angular micropositioning based on computer assisted aerostatic bearing, aiming machine-tools and metrology devices. Among the main equipments available at LMP, there are conventional and numerically controlled lathes and milling machines, drilling machines, grinders, lapping machines, boring machines, one ultraprecision lathe, piezoelectric platforms for forces measurement on turning, milling and drilling, machining database acquisition system and equipments for results measurement and evaluation, as well as a full computational support structure. A new research area is related to LASER materials processing, based on a 10kW fiber LASER source for welding, cladding and additive manufacturing researches. There is also an intense interchange between LMP and national and foreign research institutes like institutes from Kassel, Ilmenau, and Braunschweig Technician Universities, as well as graduation and post-graduation students bilateral interchange between LMP, FhG – IPT and the Aachen Technician University.
