Young Research Group Geographies Of Digital Infrastructures Fau
The young research group focuses on an often invisible material geography of our increasingly digitalised world: digital infrastructures and their embedding in geopolitical tensions and conflicts. To research the resilience of digital infrastructures, the security of internet routing and new and emerging dependencies, the research group is developing an interdisciplinary connection between digital geography, GIScience and IT security research - and making this fruitful for international peace and conflict studies and critical infrastructure research. The research project ‘Resilience of Digital Infrastructures - Geopolitical Conflicts of Internet Routing’ has been funded by the BMFTR since October 2024.

Reallabor Burghausen Chemdelta Bavaria
Die Transformation der chemischen Industrie hin zu einer nachhaltigen wasserstoff-basierten Chemie ist übergeordnetes Ziel des Projekts „H2-Reallabor Burghausen – ChemDelta Bavaria“ (H2 steht für Wasserstoff), um sowohl die klima- und energiepolitischen Ziele Deutschlands zu erreichen, als auch den Wohlstand in der Wirtschaftsregion ChemDelta Bavaria, dem so genannten Bayerischen Chemiedreieck im Südosten Bayerns, zu erhalten. 2021 wurde für die Transformation der südostbayerischen Chemie-Region ChemDelta Bavaria hin zur Wasserstoffwirtschaft die „Reallabor Burghausen – ChemDelta Bavaria gGmbH“ als gemeinnützige Gesellschaft gegründet, unter Federführung der Stadt Burghausen, des Landkreises Altötting sowie weiterer Gesellschafter aus Industrie und Logistik: Wacker Chemie AG, Linde GmbH, InfraServ GmbH & Co. Gendorf KG, Westlake Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG, OMV Deutschland GmbH und DB Cargo BTT GmbH. Mit dem Reallabor Burghausen als gemeinnützige Gesellschaft sollen neue Technologien entwickelt und zur Marktreife geführt werden, um Wasserstoff insbesondere stofflich in der chemischen Industrie zu nutzen, aber auch um Anwendungsmöglichkeiten in anderen Branchen einschließlich der Logistik zu entwickeln. DAS PROJEKT H2-REALLABOR BURGHAUSEN – CHEMDELTA BAVARIA In einem 4-jährigen Verbundvorhaben (April 2023 – März 2027) haben sich insgesamt 35 Partner aus Industrie und Wissenschaft zusammengeschlossen, um Lösungen für die stoffliche Nutzung von H2 für die chemische Industrie zu entwickeln. Gefördert wird das Projekt durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Wissenschaft mit 39 Mio. Euro. European Training Network - Improving Quality of Care in Europe "IQCE" Six European universities University of Hamburg, Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE)(coordinator) Bocconi University, Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS) Erasmus University Rotterdam, Institute of Health Policy & Management (iBMG) Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Nova School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE) University of Southern Denmark, Danish Centre for Health Economics (DaCHE) University of York, Centre for Health Economics York (CHE) and the global health care company Abbott are establishing a European Training Network entitled Improving Quality of Care in Europe. A European Training Network (ETN) is a consortium, funded by the EU programme Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), that sets up a joint research and training programme for researchers at doctoral level. The aim is for the researcher to experience different sectors and develop their transferable skills by working on joint research projects. The aim of the IQCE program is to improve the quality and performance of European health care systems. Each PhD thesis will focus on one of six dimensions of health care quality as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO): effectiveness; safety; efficiency; access; equitability; and acceptability. The IQCE program offers highly competitive funding and working conditions. Successful candidates will receive a salary in accordance with the Marie Sklodowska Curie regulations for early stage researchers.

From the LSW webpage: The observatory at Königstuhl was inaugurated on 20th June 1898 by the grand duke Friedrich I. of Baden. Since January 1, 2005, the Landessternwarte Königstuhl (LSW)- together with the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut (ARI) and the Institut für Theoretische Astrophysik (ITA)- is part of the Zentrum für Astronomie (ZAH) of Heidelberg University. The contemporary Landessternwarte Königstuhl (LSW) is active in the fields of stellar and extragalactic astrophysics. It is involved in the development and building of the Lucifer-spectrograph for the near infrared at the Large Binocular Telescope. In the domain of high-energy astrophysics the LSW participates in the H.E.S.S-telescope in Namibia. Special emphasis is taken on active galaxies and quasars also supported by optical observations and theoretical work. Another working group on stellar physics is engaged in hot stars and compact objects. The technique of interferometry is developed for ESO telescopes (VLTI) and used especially for the search of extra-solar planets.

Mechatronische Systeme Im Maschinenbau - Ims, Tu Darmstadt
Im Fokus der Forschung am IMS steht die Systemintegration, d. h. die Herstellung eines Gesamtsystems aus den Teilsystemen bzw. den Komponenten. Die fünf wesentlichen Teilsysteme stellen dabei das mechanische Grundsystem, die Aktorik, die Sensorik, der Prozessrechner inklusive Software sowie die Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle dar. Bei der Entwicklung mechatronischer Systeme ist einerseits die Modellbildung und Simulation sowie andererseits die Charakterisierung bzw. die experimentelle Identifikation von großer Bedeutung. Die spezifische Gestaltung des Gesamtprodukts (geometrische Integration) sowie die Entwicklung der Funktionalität durch Lösen von Syntheseproblemen (funktionale Integration) sind weitere wichtige Bestandteile der Forschung. Darüber hinaus erfordert die Systementwicklung, bei der üblicherweise eine große Anzahl von Ingenieuren unterschiedlicher Fachdisziplinen involviert ist, neue leistungsfähige Methoden und Organisationsformen. Am IMS liegen hier die Schwerpunkte in vier Bereichen: Fahrzeugsysteme, Energiespeichersysteme, Aktive Schwingungssysteme sowie Mensch-Mechatronik Synergie.
