Iea Ebc Annex 83 Positive Energy Districts
Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) aim to create an area within the city that is capable of generating more energy than it consumes. Furthermore PEDs also support minimizing the impact on the centralized energy networks by offering options for increasing onsite load-matching and self-consumption, technologies for short and long term storages, and providing energy flexibility with smart control. The aim of Annex 83 is developing an in-depth definition of a PED and the technologies, planning tools and the decision-making and planning process related to positive energy districts. Experience and data to be used in the Annex will be gained from demonstration cases. Annex 83 is active 2020-2024.

Keskitymme yhteiskunnallisen ja alueellisen eriytymis- ja polarisaatiokehityksen ymmärtämiseen ja niiden ratkaisuihin, sekä kestävän siirtymän edistämisen kysymyksiin. Oman tutkimuksen tuloksia jaetaan julkaisuina ja hyödynnetään asiakashankkeissa ja projekteissa. Työskentelemme näiden asioiden parissa, koska se tuottaa meille oivaltamisen iloa ja ravitsee uteliaisuutta. Yhdessä avoimin mielin tekemällä kehittyy uudenlaisia luovia ratkaisuja, joista on hyötyä muille ja maailmalle.

The research group of Steel Structures at LUT University focuses on the design and strength analysis of metallic parts and components. The group's core research activities investigates the mechanical performance of joints and structures made of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels, light metals, and advanced alloys under various load and environmental conditions. High-quality research and teaching – without forgetting societal impact on engineering – emphasize a blend of experimental methods, modeling, and simulation to advance design and analysis capabilities. E/O Interposers are bridging the gap between electronic and optical interconnections in advanced packaging technologies like 2.5D and 3D integration. Glass Interposers provide excellent electrical insulation, low dielectric constant, ideal for RF applications, and thermal expansion matching with other materials. They are available in standard wafer sizes or panels for larger sizes and lower manufacturing costs. Silicon Interposers are the best compatible option for semiconductor processes. They provide high mechanical strength and are ideal for high-density interconnections. They can be more expensive than similar glass-made solutions and may require high sheet-resistivity silicon or additional thick oxides to improve RF signal fidelity in Re-Distribution Layer design (RDL). PHOSPACK provides Redistribution Layer (RDL) design and interposer prototyping with vertical and horizontal interconnection techniques such as Through-Silicon Vias (TSVs), Through-Glass Vias (TGVs), and micro-bumping. Each material is chosen balancing specific application requirements and factors like thermo-mechanical properties, RF performance, and cost.

Tilastotiedon määrä ja laatu ovat kansainvälisesti ainutlaatuisia. OTI tarjoaa tietoa liikenneturvallisuuden kehittämiseen, tutkimukseen ja tietoon perustuvan päätöksenteon tueksi. Instituutti toimii erillisenä yksikkönä Liikennevakuutuskeskuksessa. The Finnish Crash Data Institute (OTI) works to prevent road accidents in Finland. OTI coordinates the operations of road accident investigation teams and administers the data collected in the investigations, in addition to its other traffic accident statistics. The amount and quality of the statistical data are unique by international standards. OTI provides important information that can be used to improve traffic safety at both legislative and practical levels. The institute operates as an independent unit within the Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre.
