Ill - Institut Laue Langevin
The Institut Laue-Langevin is an international research centre at the leading edge of neutron science and technology. As the world’s flagship centre for neutron science, the ILL provides scientists with a very high flux of neutrons feeding some 40 state-of-the-art instruments, which are constantly being developed and upgraded. As a service institute ILL makes its facilities and expertise available to visiting scientists. Every year, about 1400 researchers from over 40 countries visit the ILL and 640 experiments selected by a scientific review committee are performed. Research focuses primarily on fundamental science in a variety of fields: condensed matter physics, chemistry, biology, nuclear physics and materials science, etc. Whilst some are working on battery design, fuels and catalysts, plastics and pharmaceuticals, others are looking at biological processes at cellular and molecular level. Still others may be elucidating the physics that could contribute to the electronic devices of the future. ILL can specially tailor its neutron beams to probe the fundamental processes that help to explain how our universe came into being, why it looks the way it does today and how it can sustain life. The ILL also collaborates closely and at different levels of confidentiality with the R&D departments of industrial enterprises.

Avec plus de 2 collaborateurs et chercheurs, l’Inrap est la plus importante structure de recherche archéologique française et l’une des toutes premières en Europe. Institut national de recherche, il réalise chaque année quelque 1 800 diagnostics archéologiques et 250 fouilles en partenariat avec les aménageurs privés et publics, en France métropolitaine et outre-mer. Ses missions s’étendent à l’exploitation scientifique des résultats et à la diffusion de la connaissance archéologique auprès du public. Créé par la loi de 2001 sur l’archéologie préventive, l’Inrap est un établissement public original. Placé sous la tutelle des ministères chargés de la Recherche, et de la Culture, son rôle est de sauvegarder par l’étude le patrimoine archéologique touché par les opérations d’aménagement du territoire. L’Inrap est le seul opérateur public compétent sur l’ensemble du territoire et pour toutes les périodes, de la Préhistoire à nos jours. Héritier de trente ans d’expérience, il intervient sur tous les types de chantiers : urbain, rural, subaquatique, grands tracés linéaires. À l’issue des chantiers, l’Inrap assure l’exploitation des résultats et leur diffusion auprès de la communauté scientifique : plus de 300 de ses chercheurs collaborent avec le CNRS et l’Université. L’institut contribue de façon déterminante au développement de la connaissance archéologique, en liaison avec ces institutions. Par le nombre de ses chercheurs, l’étendue de ses interventions et la masse des données recueillies, il joue un rôle moteur dans de nombreux domaines, notamment ceux pour lesquels l’archéologie préventive a profondément renouvelé les connaissances. Les missions de l’Inrap s’étendent à la diffusion de la connaissance archéologique auprès du public. À ce titre, il organise de nombreuses opérations de valorisation, le plus souvent en collaboration avec les aménageurs : ouverture de chantiers au public, expositions, publications, production audiovisuelle, colloques…

The Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (Institut de Pharmacologie et de Biologie Structurale, IPBS) is a joint CNRS-University of Toulouse research center occupying m2 at the heart of the campus of Paul Sabatier University. The IPBS currently has a scientific and administrative staff of 250 people, including a large number of postdoctoral workers and postgraduate (masters and PhD) students, working in 16 research teams grouped into three departments (Cancer Biology, Structural Biology and Biophysics, Tuberculosis and Infection Biology), and four technological platforms. Our institute is a world leader in the discovery, characterization and validation of novel important pathways and therapeutic targets in the fields of cancer and infectious diseases, through the use of molecular and cellular biology approaches, together with in vivo experiments, including BSL-3-based studies of infectious diseases. It conducts state-of-the-art research in structural biology, proteomics, biophysics, cancerology, immunology and microbiology.

After several years promoting Model Based System Engineering while he was working with PSA Peugeot Citroën, Philippe Gicquel started CIL4Sys Engineering in 2015, to help the industry move from traditional system engineering process to Agile process. CIL4Sys Engineering (Customer In the Loop for System Engineering) is accelerating the development of innovations. With our tool chain Sim4Sys®, we offer design services with an original and tooled approach where the entire company can follow the progress of the project on a daily basis, because the design is simulated continuously in a virtual environment. Document deliverables, including textual requirements, are generated automatically from the models. CIL4Sys delivers in short loops- A model in Unified Modeling Language UML that describes behavioral logic of the studied system- The simulations that allow to visualize its behavior- The test sequences for validation- The specification documents generated from the model. The solution allows to share a functional digital mockup from the definition of needs to the digital twin in operation. It is possible to represent the behavior of a single product but also to orchestrate the different partners. It is a unique tool for communication and collaboration.
