Initially this laboratory was part of the hydrodynamics laboratory. However, since this laboratory has been prepared to support the expanding Ocean Engineering Department. Therefore, this laboratory then has its own facility, a flume tank complete with supporting equipment. Now this laboratory is the center of the development of studies of the marine environment, marine energy and coastal engineering. Demokrasi membuka jalan kompromi, juga menyediakan ruang agar konflik perebutan kekuasaan berlangsung damai. Ilmu pengetahuan telah lama menggantikan intuisi, begitu juga ketika ilmu politik mulai menemukan rasionalisasinya dalam ilmu statistik. Aktor dan para pemikir politik mulai melihat, bahwa politik telah menemukan jalan baru, pertarungan ideologi mulai menemukan titik ‘equilibrium’ di spektrum yang lebih longgar dalam pengertian filsafat, tapi ketat dalam praktek hukum dan tata negara. Ketika partai politik kehilangan gairah ideologisnya, hubungan antara partai dengan basis masyarakat menjadi sangat longgar, khususnya di Indonesia. Pasca Pemilu seluruh partai yang ada mulai bergeser ke spectrum tengah, bahkan bukan ‘tengah’ dalam kaidah filsafat, tapi lebih menempatkan diri sebagai partai pragmatis, atau sering dikenal dengam istilah ‘catch all party’. Ideologi yang tadinya mengisi ‘intermediary space’ antara partai dengan masyarakat, kini meninggalkan ruang kosong. Pada akhirnya, politik menggangdeng teori-teori marketing praktis untuk mengisi kekosongan tersebut. Mau tidak mau, politik membutuhkan nilai-nilai baru: ilmu manajemen moderen, statistik, marketing dan teknologi informasi. Inilah yang membuat kami memilih kata transformasi menjadi nama perusahaan ini. Membaca tanda-tanda jaman, melahirkan gagasan-gagasan baru yang lebih kreatif dan bermartabat, adalah prinsip yang selalu dipegang teguh oleh Intrans.
