Quidow
We analyze emotions to identify people's desires and needs. To make this possible we have created software that can accurately calculate the value that each of us attributes to words, decoding them in a measurable and quantifiable digital language. Through our algorithms it is possible to find out what people really want or associate with products and services of Companies and Institutions. This allows us to have a complete and absolutely realistic overview of the contact points and of the critical points, providing the key necessary to calibrate action and communication plans focused on public's wishes. WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU Supporting Companies and Institutions in interactions with Customers, Employees and Stakeholders. Help them to understand how the products and services are really perceived and evaluated, inside and outside the Company. Identify the points of contact and the critical issues to be able to calibrate action and communication plans based on the wishes of people.

Reactive - Powder Technology
ReActive – Powder Technology is a Spin-Off company of Politecnico di Milano founded in 2018 by the Aerospace Propulsion Laboratory (SPLab) of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of Politecnico di Milano. The team inherits an experience of over 40 years of research in the development, production, characterization, management and use of metal and non-metal powders in the areas of aerospace propulsion and energetic materials. ReActive – Powder Technology applies mechanical activation (ball milling) for the production of its own materials. This technique features low environmental impact and confers to the products peculiar properties that can be tailored according to the needs of the customer. The production flexibility derives from the miscellany of parameters that can be modified and affect the final product. This makes mechanical activation as attractive as difficult to master. Know-how and expertise of our team can meet the needs of the customer, quickly and effectively. In addition to the standard and commercially available processing techniques granting high and low activation energy, ReActive – Powder Technology operates a proprietary and innovative method. This last approach offers the customer the best performance.

Samfix
LIFE SAMFIX aims to save natural forests from black twig borer and Asian ambrosia beetle invasions. In 2016, Xylosandrus species were spotted for the first time in natural areas in French Cote d’Azur and Spanish El Pla de les Clotxes and a first massive outbreak occurred in the Italian Circeo National Park. These Asian beetles dig galleries in young branches and trunks of trees hosting symbiotic fungi. Infested trees can show wilting, branch dieback, shoot breakage and general decline. The project LIFE SAMFIX develops specific prevention, early warning and containment protocols, trials them in a wide range of natural sites; and collects and assesses obtained data to better understand Xylosandrus invasion pathways and routes with the final aim of eradicating or containing current infestations and preventing future expansions. The project is implemented by partners Parco Nazionale del Circeo, Ville d’Antibes Juan les Pins, Insitut National de la Recherche Agronomique, Regione Lazio, Terrasystem, Universidad de Alicante, Università degli studi della Tuscia. Targeted areas are Circeo Park, Antibes, Ile Ste Marguerite, areas around Nice and El Tello, with replications in surrounding Parks. This project is co-funded by the EU #LIFE programme, under Grant Agreement LIFE17/

Smartdata Polito
The SmartData@PoliTO center focuses on Big Data technologies, and Data Science approaches. Scope and goals – The world is producing more data than ever, and we now have the power to collect, store, process and model this humongous amount of data. This is changing the way problems are approached, increasing the number of phenomenological models complemented by data driven approaches. Big data and data science are interdisciplinary fields addressing the extraction of knowledge and value from data. SmartData — Machine learning, data mining, statistics, signal processing, graph modeling are among the fundamentals of big data and data science. Only if well-matched, data scientists and domain experts have the power to make data “smart”. SmartData@PoliTO mixes these fundamentals by coupling data, applications, and the specialized knowledge of technical and business domains. Multidisciplinary and open – The center is formed by faculties with multidisciplinary competences. 50+ professors and researchers from 7 areas are involved in the center. Multidisciplinary in nature, the center is open to expanded collaborations. Covered topics — The center focuses on interdisciplinary competences spanning from fundamental problems of data science to applications on different domains. Topics are in the field of big data collection, storage and processing, data science and data mining, and business models and practices applied to big data. They can be grouped into 3 areas- Algorithms and methodologies for data analysis, with interest on big data processing, data mining, deep learning, supervised and unsupervised machine learning like rule mining, classification, prediction, anomaly detection, clustering- Methodologies for data modeling, statistics, computational topology with application to data analysis, and study of hybrid systems that merge big data with simulation approaches- Study the transformations in industrial structures, value chains, business models, mobility, etc

T.E.A.M. Time Enhanced Architectural Modeling
T.E.A.M. is a research project inside Poplab that was created to facilitate the design of kinetic projects. Time is the ingredient that allows dynamism. Normally in digital, we create three-dimensional models within two-dimensional media. In fact, today there are not commercially available programs that allow designers to create objects/elements and generate dynamic relationships between them, while immersed in a three-dimensional space. The goal of our research project is to take a first step to close this gap creating an application operating totally in virtual reality that aims to support designers in the creation of architectures, objects, and components with variable shapes and structures, thus exploring the different possible configurations to optimize the comfort and usability of spaces, as well as improving, for example, energy efficiency. T.E.A.M. is therefore a simulator – one that we are currently developing in the Unity 3D game engine – that is designed to be used exclusively in the 6DOF virtual environment using a commercial VR headset. A central feature of the research focus is the analysis and reproduction of a series of case studies, some produced by us, others chosen from existing projects. T.E.A.M. – Time Enhanced Architectural Modeling was born in 2019 thanks to Poplab Srl winning the Call of the Veneto Region POR – ERDF 2014-2020
