Fuel Cell Cutting-Edge Center Technology Research Association
The Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Cutting-Edge Research Center (FC-Cubic) was established as a direct sponsored research by the Fuel Cell Promotion Office of Agency of Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2005. The young enthusiastic researchers got together from outside of our research organization, AIST, so that it was formed from the zero-based position. Since the inauguration on April 1, 2005, we had tried re-constructing the laboratory with a high level of security and safety, securing enthusiastic researchers, who acquired Ph.D. and introducing special apparatus. It was realized to answer the strong requests from industrial community, related with fuel cell technologies, and to accept the passion for promoting fuel cells to practical use by Japanese government (METI). FC-Cubic started full-scale researching the phenomenon analysis in fuel cells in the fiscal year of 2006. Supported by many parties around us, we have been able to announce our research results since the latter half of 2007. We will do our utmost to live up to industry’s expectations. Since April, 2008, this project has been entrusted to New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) as Fuel Cell Cutting-edge Scientific Research Project.

International Network Of Research Management Societies
INORMS brings together research management societies and associations from across the globe. Its purpose is to enable interactions, share good practice, and coordinate activities between the member societies, to the benefit of their individual membership. Each member society has its own distinct remit, constitution, membership and geographical base. The network enables the officers of the member societies to compare their national or regional issues, and to learn from each other. Through INORMS, we are able to transfer training course structure and content, adopt comparable support mechanisms, and jointly develop training materials. The INORMS secretariat sits with the Association that hosted the immediate past INORMS Congress - it currently sits with the Australasian Research Management Society (from September 2016 - June 2018).

Nagoya University-Disaster Mitigation Research Center
The Disaster Mitigation Research Center (DMRC), Nagoya University, was founded in January 2012. Nagoya City and the surrounding Chukyo area are vulnerable to natural hazard risks, particularly colossal earthquakes along the Nankai Trough plate boundary. The Japanese government estimates that there is a 60-70 % chance of a massive earthquake occurring during the next 30 years. The area also has a history of damaging floods and storms. Since this area is the center of industrial production in Japan, the natural hazard risks have the potential to cause a serious crisis at the national level. The DMRC brings together experts from various academic fields, such as engineering, earth science, social science, and humanities as a means of promoting cooperative multidisciplinary research aimed at developing and applying a state-of-the art disaster mitigation model to ensure that the local community is safe and secure. The DMRC provides a cooperative framework for local government, companies, and citizens to improve the preparedness of the local community for future natural hazards. In addition, the DMRC offers disaster mitigation training courses for local public officers and volunteers. The Disaster Mitigation Research Building (Gensai-kan) where the DMRC is located has an exhibition hall and a library, which offer the public information about natural disasters and their mitigation.
