International Islamic University Malaysia Iium
The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is the manifestation of one of the major aspirations of Muslim scholars in Malaysia to have an Islamic university in Malaysia to lead the Muslim ummah in all branches of knowledge. The plan to establish IIUM was revealed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia on 12 January 1982 after deliberating with the Education Minister, senior government officers and senior academics from local universities. The university was officially established on 20 May 1983 by the Government of Malaysia. The philosophy of IIUM was inspired by the outcomes of the 1977 First World Conference on Muslim Education in Makkah. IIUM was founded under the Companies Act of 1965 that enabled it to use English and Arabic as the medium of instruction and enhance its global orientation. IIUM integrates Islamic values and world-view into its humanities, scientific and technical curricula, befitting its university slogan “The Garden of Virtue and Knowledge”. This is reflected in IIUM educational philosophy and its logo. IIUM aspires to restore the roles of Muslims in education and knowledge creation and acquisition and to contribute to the improvement of quality of life for all mankind. Befitting the Premier International Islamic Research University (PREMIER) status awarded by ISESCO on 17 December 2014, it provides an extensive, comprehensive learning environment conducive for conducting advanced research in various disciplines. It is the quality of the learning, comparative knowledge and research environments that attracted the high concentration of talent by which IIUM is known for.

Neuramatix Sdn Bhd
At Neuramatix, we are dedicated to developing a benevolent Artificial Intelligence for the enhancement of all life. To achieve this, we have committed to foster the application of our novel neural network models in accelerating the development of true artificial general intelligence (AGI), that nurtures a sustainable and harmonious future. As an AI pioneer in Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region, Neuramatix has been researching, developing and commercialising neuronal technologies powered by a proprietary neural engine called NeuraBASE™. NeuraBASE™ implements a model based on an alternative theory of how the brain works. To exhibit true AGI, a system must be able to adapt to continuous learning from new inputs, and to recall what it has learnt previously. This approach provides the ability for machines to learn pattern from data and to express information in much the same way as the human brain learns, stores, retrieves, and expresses information. And doing so while using far less compute resources, saving precious energy and other materials compared with conventional AI. Now as we traverse towards the 5th Industrial Revolution, our focus begins to move beyond merely the pursuit of efficiency and productivity. Instead, technological advancements are meant to provide prosperity, sustainability and quality of life for all on Earth. It is our firm belief that a benevolent AGI with low carbon footprint is what humanity needs to achieve these goals.

Our team consists of three main departments which are mechanical, programming and schematics. These three departments work together to overcome all the technical issue and develop a robot that can compete against the toughest opponents in a series of challenges. Past Achievements of REC’s ROBOCON Team: We did not obtain a ranking in the ROBOCON 2020 competition as ROBOCON 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic, however we did manage to design and construct both Pass Robot (PR) and Try Robot (TR) to fulfil the game course. During the ROBOCON Malaysia 2021, we designed and built both throwing and arrowkid robots. We managed to obtain the award of “10 Pasukan Terbaik”. From the latest achievement, we successfully grabbed the 4th place in group state during ROBOCON Malaysia 2022. This year, we continue to recruit new talents to expand our team.
