Norsus
The vision of NORSUS Norwegian Institute for Sustainability Research (formerly Ostfold Research) is to provide knowledge for sustainable societal development. We apply and develop knowledge and methods to understand and implement sustainable solutions in society. Together with a wide range of public and private clients, we undertake projects locally, nationally and internationally to enhance environmental performance, often also generating economic benefits. For more than 30 years (and long before the term was widely known) we have worked with the circular economy. We are passionate about better use of resources, from the product to the societal level. We therefore work with environmental and resource efficiency through a life cycle approach (LCA). We are among Europe’s leading research communities in LCA. Alongside our focus on environmental research, we also address the social and economic pillars of sustainability. We work with many of Norway’s most innovative and future-oriented enterprises in a number of areas. We develop new methods that match the needs of our project partners. The work has given us substantial knowledge and understanding of industrial sectors and service areas. We welcome contact from interested enterprises, researchers and others for collaborative development of research projects. NORSUS is a private not-for-profit research institute, receiving basic funding from the Research Council of Norway. We started as Stiftelsen Østfoldforskning (Ostfold Research Foundation) in 1988 and restructured in 2006 as a limited company. We are located on the premises of Ostfold University College in Fredrikstad, in the south-east of Norway, and have a project office in Oslo.

International Library Of Fashion Research
Mission Fashion is one of our most significant cultural artifacts — an expression of our values and fascinations, and an impression of a moment in time with social, political, and economic dimensions. Yet because much of its printed matter is created for commercial or informal ends, it rarely receives the thorough study it deserves. Ultimately there is a need for intellectual enterprise, new narratives and a healthy collective environment to interact with the actual production and positioning of fashion. Founded in 2020, the Library will become the world’s most comprehensive repository of specialized fashion research and contemporary fashion publications. We will fill a much-needed gap in the preservation of and critical engagement with fashion’s printed culture at an institutional level, and build a free, globally accessible resource for fashion researchers, industry professionals, and amateur enthusiasts. International Library of Fashion Research is actively working not only to preserve fashion’s past, but to understand its present and contribute to its future. Collection The library’s foundation is based on a seed donation of pieces of contemporary printed matter dating from 1975 until present. It includes books, magazines, lookbooks, show invitations, illustrations, ephemera, acquired from various private collectors. The collection will continue to grow via further donations from global fashion houses, publishers and practitioners, animated by an extensive program of talks, digital annotations and micro-curations.

National Research Ethics Committees
The National Research Ethics Committees are independent agencies for questions regarding research ethics, and investigation of misconduct, within all subject areas. The National Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics (NEM) NEM is an advisory and appeal body for the seven regional committees for medical research ethics. If you are to do medical or health research in Norway, or Norwegian scientists within this field doing research abroad, you must apply to the regional committees for medical research ethics (REK). Forms and information are available at REK’s website: helseforskning.etikkom.no. Appeals on decisions are sent to REK and will be forwarded to NEM. The National Committee for Research Ethics in Science and Technology (NENT) NENT works at policy level by setting guidelines and general statements and meeting. The Committee also deals with individual research projects. Note that the scope of NENT also includes industrial research, agricultural and fisheries research and non-human biotechnology. The National Committee for Research Ethics in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (NESH) NESH works at policy level by setting guidelines and general statements and meeting. The Committee also deals with individual research projects. The National Commission for the Investigation of Research Misconduct If you suspect some kind of research misconduct in your research institution, private or public, you should first check out the procedures set by your institution how to handle such allegations. As a whistle-blower you are protected by the The Working Environment Act. Institutions may redirect an investigation to the Commission if, for example, a case is deemed particularly complicated, has received considerable public attention or due to possible conflicts of interest. The Commission may also decide to investigate a case under authority of the law on misconduct at its own initiative.

Ocean Industries Concept Lab
We are a design centered research group situated at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) in Oslo, Norway. We focus on developing knowledge supporting design of advanced workplaces in the Ocean Industries. Digital innovation has a tremendous impact on the Ocean Industries. However, the rapid change enabled by digital innovation, have in many cases made people the bottleneck for new innovation. In short there is a gap between digital innovation in the maritime industries and people’s ability to use these solutions safely and efficiently in practice. We argue the industry has to change approach to human centered innovation in order to take advantage of digitization and new enabling technologies for safer and more efficient workplaces. Ocean Industries Concept Lab is a research group committed to develop knowledge that support user centered innovation processes in the maritime domain. We are rooted in design practice such as industrial, interaction and service design and carry out our projects in close collaboration with leading actors in the Ocean Industries.
