The Health Sciences Research Center (HSRC) is one of several research centers at PNU and dedicated to pursuing and supporting research aimed at improving health, preventing and curing diseases, and understanding how humans and animals function. It is housed in a three-story building located in between the Colleges of Health Sciences and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital at station A1 on the monorail. It has been operational since 01 September 2015 and currently is staffed with research support personnel.

The research institute is considered the main foundation of industrial development in all its sectors, as it contributes to the development of scientific theories related to manufacturing, which in turn contributes to the improvement of products, raising the level of performance, increasing production and lowering cost The industry of desalination in the Kingdom has gained high strategic importance in view of the scarcity of fresh water resources. As a consequence, SWCC has become a world leader in water desalination production. Today, SWCC covers 17.4% of the total world production of desalinated water and 45.5% of desalinated water production in the Gulf region. SWCC’s firm belief in scientific research and technology development has been the main reason for the establishment of a specialized research institute to conduct research studies in the field of water desalination. The institute is located next to one of the biggest desalination and power generation plants in the Jubail province, on the eastern coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia SWCC established its Research Institute at Al-Jubail, KSA, as part of the Saudi American Cooperation Agreement. It was inaugurated in 1407 H. corresponding to 1987 G under the name of Research & Development Center. The institute made big strides in the field of research and development, contributing to improvements in desalination technology, water treatment techniques, increasing efficiency in operations and maintenance and reducing production cost in the operating stations. The institute has an excellent infrastructure consisting of a number of laboratories equipped with the latest technology and experimentation units, which made it the number one institute specialized in seawater desalination, The institute has around 106 employees, 35% of whom are research experts

Natural And Health Sciences Research Center At Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University
Natural and Health Sciences Research Center is one of several research centers at Princess Noura bint AbdulRahman University. It is centrally located in the middle of the five health colleges at Princess Noura bint AbdulRahman University and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital. The center's area is approximately forty thousand square meters, and has 26 laboratories, including 14 biology laboratories, 6 chemistry laboratories, and 6 physics, dry labs laboratories. Biology laboratories have a tissue culture room for each laboratory, which makes it unique globally. The basement also has a database center and 20 animal incubators with all their supplies, including operating rooms, sterilization, and so on. In line with what Princess Nourah bint AbdulRahman University aims to achieve, the Center aims to advance the level of research by establishing its own research projects and programs to support and enhance the university’s strategic goals in developing the capabilities and improving the quality of scientific research for its employees and its cooperating bodies. Which seeks to harmonize and keep pace with the strategic plans and the Kingdom’s 2030 vision for national development. The Center also devotes its efforts to pursuing and supporting the goals of scientific research to improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and understand human function.
